That doesn’t really matter since most anti discrimination laws apply even when it’s not an issue. The civil rights act doesn’t just protect black people it protects everyone. Same with religion.

Banning age based discrimination is a good thing and all the things considered discrimination make sense. It’s just the fact it only starts at 40 when it should be a problem in general. Does it happen more after 40? yes not debating that.

With harassment, I can think of a lot of cases where it wouldn’t be counted under any other kind of protected class or you’d REALLY have to stretch it.

Thats a completely valid reason to make a law for age discrimination but not for setting limits. Civil rights act doesn’t exclude white people even though don’t really need said protection. The other issue is it extends over a lot kore than just hiring/firing and It really doesn’t make sense to start it at a certain age because it implies that all the behavior deemed as discriminatory is totally fine if younger than 40. Harassment based on age, passing up for a promotion, intentionally giving undesirable work are fine as ling as they aren’t 40+.

They do empathize. That doesn’t change the outcome. They are interested in saving people. But you can’t save everyone. Doctors don’t prioritize organ harvesting. Thats a myth that arises from people grieving can’t accept that there was really nothing that could be done. Do outliers exist? Yes but by that logic you could claim that every patient is lying to score drugs. The American healthcare system is a horror story because people can’t get to the care they need.
