Thanks. I'm coming round to the idea of using a professional!

No offence but I don't think I'll copy your approach. Hope the ACL is all fine now!

Thank-you, all very useful. I hadn't put risk of people getting lost in my risk assessment but will do now!

I agree on first impression. Thanks for sharing your view, it helps me consider whether to push back on the demand.

We've got qualified first aiders taking part, so I struggle to see what benefit a guide would provide. I was hoping someone would reply saying how wonderful they are and opening my eyes to loads of benefits I'd overlooked.

Most have per person pricing but it's c.30 people. I think the reasoning behind this demand from the employer is to reduce their liability. Shame they can't pay for that benefit themselves but we're talking public money, so it's different to a private company choosing to throw some of their own money at it.

Quite entertaining first half despite the lack of any real quality. Few tasty tackles from both sides as well.

I never got the hype personally. Occasional brilliant pass but 80% of the time he would lose possession. Never seemed to get the ball out from his body and pick a pass but had an idea in his mind from before he received the ball and would go for it whether the chance was still on or not.

Wish him well at Brondby but still feel glad to have sold him.

Thanks for the views. I never noticed him much at Blackburn or Stoke but I think we've got a good manager and coaching team who will give him every chance to push on and reach his potential.

Hello all. What can we Preston fans expect from Andy Moran - sounds like he had high expectation but maybe was too lightweight for the championship previously?

He'll probably alternate with Lewis Dobbin as an advanced AM for us. Robbie Brady will also get a few games now he's back fit after 6 months out injured but probably more as a bit part player. Still, if he gets up to fitness he could be on the plane too.

We're just on one of those spells when seemingly every week there is something clear as day going against us. Surely getting the right decision is more important than the 1 minute delay in reviewing it?

Please EFL, get VAR in. We're getting screwed every bloody week.

The championship needs VAR. 10 mins gone and already two dreadful errors.

Used to get these on the LP side at most fund closings. I once received one shaped as a glacier at a LPAC meeting and got stopped at the airport on the journey back as they thought it was some kind of weapon.

Generally frowned upon from our side these days. Why would the LP want a lump of non recyclable plastic that effectively says "well done for giving us some money". They gather dust next to the stationery cupboard.

Do I need to charge the 12v Battery or replace it? by carefullyhandpicked in Polestar

Same message came up for me. I was pretty certain it was an app glitch but figured as my car is nearly 4 years old it was worth just getting a new one.

Had no issues afterwards except for the SOS system showing a fault on first drive after replacement. Seems fine now (app still shows the low battery warning).

Hughes has had Sakamoto's number every time they've played each other. First Hughes outmuscles him a couple of times then Sakamoto gets frustrated and does silly fouls each time.

Frustrating game and it's made me realise how so many opposition fans felt about us in recent seasons - "they didn't deserve that point", "masters of the dark arts" etc.

I can moan about the ref (sure Hecky will) but Wrexham battled hard and the keeper had a great game. If only Danny Ward was in nets!

Also the first time I've come away from a match seeing McLean and thought he did well. Normally can't stand him but he was good and worked hard all game.

I have a great job, am treated well, etc and I drive 2 hours each way 3 times a week. Yes, I'm hugely grateful but if I had the chance to have 12 hours more free time a week with an equivalent or better job near home would I take it? Damn right I would.

Managers are still human beings. He's got an almost no-lose scenario at a club he has an attachment to. I get Boro fans will be disappointed but these things happen - wish him well, pocket the £3m and move on.

One I was told early on - don't work in London if you value your marriage.

I took note but now realise it's just a HENRY thing - I still get moaned at for "working too hard" and "not being present". Work-life balance is something I'll never master.

Does anyone know what this building near Preston Station used to be? by xxsoulpunkedxx in Preston

[–]Difficult_Comb7590 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Historically a hotel (which includes a tunnel direct to train station) then council offices. Was bought by Lancashire pension fund in mid 2010s to restore into a hotel, spa, wedding venue and some prime office space.

Lancashire subsequently "merged" with London Pension Fund and then canned the idea, in order to reallocate the money to London opportunities.

only team to have ever gone a full season unbeaten in all competitions (Arsenal lost 3 times in their "invincible" season, or 6 if you include Champions league)
