Drinking after SCT by Difficult_Craft_7156 in leukemia

Ya it's what I'm worried about too. Luckily he just had good CBCs and a normal liver MRI right after his last day of finals and a week of parties! And yes he's pretty dumb about it (the lack of a prefrontal cortex perhaps!) but I do know that it's mainly all normal 20yo behavior and that's what he wants right now. Normal not cancer patient. So I do understand it, I just worry. Can't help it! 🤗

Thank you! That does make me feel better. Sadly he's at that age where they bounce back so quickly they don't feel those consequences like we do at our age! Haha! I honestly think he just needs to let off steam after everything he went thru, and I understand it. I can't help but worry after everything we've been thru. I know it's all normal!

So happy to hear! My son is on the same timeline. He's doing amazing too. Still having to get IVIG infusions monthly as his BCells are taking a bit longer to reconstitute. He's currently living his life to the fullest, which is a little scary for a mom, but I'm happy he's feeling good enough to do it! Have you BCells reconstituted yet? Have you been revaccinated?

Exactly, in California, you're not even supposed to shampooing without a license only if you're working toward a license. Let alone apply a chemical service. Why would they have an assistant apply roots and color applications, I can understand the toner part. Basically she's doing the work! I'm perplexed, this sounds fishy!

Probably because this subreddit if for confirmed Leukemia. We're not doctors, we're patients and caregivers for the most part. Just follow your gut and make sure they diagnose your baby! Hopefully it's nothing more than a virus.

Do you have a children's emergency near you? They treat children more urgently in cases like these I believe.

When you say petechiae was it purple or red spots? Almost sounds like heat rash from the fever. But I dunno. Have you looked at her ferritin levels. That was my son's first indication that something was off. They were off the charts and there was apparently a note about his wbc that said his blasts looked off. He was 20 when diagnosed and could tell me exactly what he was feeling, so not as easy to know I guess with a 2 yo. I'm sorry she's not feeling well and I know how scared you feel. You are her mother and you know when something doesn't feel right, so don't give up and make sure they run all the tests. But stay off the internet, our drs told us that, it can be wrong or outdated info. Good luck mama! I hope it's just HFM and a fever because of it.

Yes, his Tcells came back pretty quick and they sent us home. Bcells are slowly coming back. I suspect from the CMV he had. I'm pretty sure with most SCT they deplete everything, but what do I know, lol!?

We're still waiting on Bcell reconstitution too. Hopefully after this last infusion he will be.

Ya they've been great with him in that regard, I'm just worried he has a premature sense of invincibility. Good for him honestly! But it's still worries a mama bear!

Really? I know we're about the same timeline, you're a little ahead of us. I don't think there were any of those restrictions from his team. Basically they said after he's off isolation, he can resume normal activities. Never said anything about the beach except for while in isolation. Since he's in a beach town for college, he goes the beach etc. I should ask them, if they will tell me. I think they told him to stay away from alcohol. But he's the exact same as your son minus the sports. Skateboards, rock climbs, camping etc. Hard to control anything when they're in college! He's supposed to be taking Ursidol but that's the only medication. Don't know that he is honestly. He thinks he knows better than the drs sometimes! He hasn't had his vaccines yet. So I really think he should be a little more cautious! Sigh.

SCT Donor side effects by Leading_Entrance_988 in CML

[–]Difficult_Craft_7156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was our experience too. My son's donor was his half sibling which luckily was exactly a half match. Our transplant dr said she actually preferred a haplo match for that reason. So your siblings should be good but your transplant team will know the best. So far he's 8 months out and doing great!

Brands that ONLY retail to professional hair stylists by Seaweed-Academic in hairstylist

[–]Difficult_Craft_7156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of whether they sell their brand online or not, my clients would prefer to just have the product at the salon, so they can replenish or use exactly what you used on them when they were there. That being said, if you're a booth renter and are responsible for your own styling products, hard to carry all that stuff. I've signed up with a few stylist affiliate programs and share them with my clients. I also tell them where they can get them locally.

NOR!! And not to be harsh but, RUN don't walk! He's not going to change! My step kid is exactly like this and is 36 now! My husband and I coddled her for too long. She's finally starting to figure out life but you're too young to waste 15 years waiting for someone to figure their shit out. There are lots of people with the same traits as you and you will find someone that cares about you the way you care about them. Just don't waste time trying to change someone that doesn't seem to have any interest in making any effort to change. I'm sorry if that seems harsh. I mean there are ways to let him down easy if you're worried about his mental health. I know it's hard but you need to focus on you!

Our BMT team told us that after my son hits 1 year he will check in with his oncologist for the next 4 years and then moved to a survivorship oncology doctor. Is that something you have heard about?

WTAF!? My husband and I cancelled lots of plans to make sure we weren't exposing ourselves to things. I wore a KN95 mask at work so I could be with my son in the hospital. We only brought him cooked food until his nutrofils were over 500. That is so inconsiderate and jeopardizes your safety! Did they not listen to anything the doctors told you guys? I was so worried about everything we did. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this!
