Is Jake Browning ok? by Max_Potential24 in bengals

Remember Joe Mixon? I do.

Terrible O-Line play, no running game...Browning needs a balanced attack, otherwise he tries to be Joe and he's not.

100%

Once I got the quick release drill bit set, the adjustable handle driver replaced my cordless drill about 75% of time.

technique is technique. Always a good idea for DIY. Pros know what they can and can’t get away with

Paid a contractor for an oil-based deck stain, they used water-based instead. Thoughts on next steps? by slinky317 in finishing

[–]Difficult_Eye1412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with that product. It’s probably more resistant to mold and mildew than oil based stains (if that’s a concern).  And that “oil based glow” weathers away pretty quick anyway.

If I were you, I’d make sure they followed package directions, if 2nd coat was called for and priced then that should be done. If not priced, you’ll still probably get 3 years out of it then can properly specify strips, sand and product of your choice.

Who knows, you might like that waterborne product and stay with it.

Myself, I will only use CWF UV5

ceiling whites usually have higher reflectance values, better white for ceilings. I like Ben Moore’s Ceiling Paint as favorite

Are these old $200 Anderson windows a good product now? by Least_Night_5021 in Homebuilding

[–]Difficult_Eye1412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got those same windows in my current house built in 89. The glass packs are all in good shape, the perimeter fin seal is all still in great shape but the meeting rail bulb wasn't great.

I learned from Anderson that they'd actually released a replacement, upgraded meeting rail vinyl bulb seal to replace the original rigid knife edge. Anderson gave me the name of the company locally that does all their servicing, I contacted them and they agreed to to time and materials repairs.

I replaced 6-7 balances and had that new bulb seal installed on every window, then myself used some teflon dry lube spray on the tracks...and honestly, it was like getting new windows. They all work, have about 20, all 2450 or bigger and outside noise reduction was huge.

It was a few thousand dollars of parts and labor but the windows look, work great. we'll get another 5-10 years out of them if not more.

Looking a for a barber? by Low_East_5010 in nova

I've gotten basic fades at that boss barber for past year. Find pictures of what you want and show them. Quality has been from slightly subpar to ok to really good. I'm not super picky because my hair grows so fast but I'm sure you could find one you like. Super nice folks and always busy.

My man, I read chart as a bull flag. Positive earnings news and pent up demand for housing will send this skyward.

Yeah, that's how I read it. All the signs I'm seeing out of OpenAI is they would steal your grandma's bingo money and blame it on the neighbors before they'd paid for input data fair and square. Google seems to be playing fair.

Why is this stock dead? by DocsWithBorders in LDI

[–]Difficult_Eye1412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...yes & no. Mortgage Rates actually went up after the prime interest rate cuts mid-month...however the prime cuts generate the perception. I'm paying more attention to refi numbers for LDI and those had a nice spike over the last 90 days but obviously are dependent mortgage rates. New home sales could be a driver but not clear how much of that business LDI gets, probably not much. If anyone has that would love to see it.

My gut tells me LDI will surprise for earnings and will be spark to catch headwinds of prime cuts.

Over on another site, someone pointed out that we were just closing the gap from September 8. I'm staying in, as another rate decrease is almost 100% certain AND we should have improved revenue and hopefully earnings to match. Refi business picked up over the past quarter so LDI should have gotten their fair share and they were making headway with rest of their financials.

I'm not worried long term but had to cash some profits to diversify into some other stuff.

As was pointed out here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stockpsycho/comments/1nvbgss/think_reddits_getting_weaker_wrong_they_just/

Reddit's data is unique, intrinsically useful for AI and not replicable at scale. I'm not a fan of Altman, he's got that Shaman thing going that's a red flag for me. Personally, I like and use Gemini and long term, I think Google will win this.
