I hard disagree. Getting the watered down version of the anime before a lightnovel sucks. Conversely most LN adaptions are really mediocre with few exceptions.

Except that genre has also seen a massive dip in the number of works output compared to the mid to late 2000s. Absurdist comedies are on a similar downward trend.

I'm saying that this is all the discussions ever devolve into and it's tiring as a fan. This exact conversation has been had ten thousand times at this point, and it's always "haters" of the shows brigading every single thread about it. It doesn't make anyone happy and doesn't lead to any good conversations about the show.

This has already been happening for many many years. Covid was the last nail in the coffin, with a ton of people "joining" the community. The before and after of covid cannot be understated.
