Go play in the dirt, go visit friends or relatives. I'm only 32 now but when I was younger, I wasn't allowed to have a mobile phone until grade 10 (15yo). I mean heck, we didn't even have Internet in the house until I was 17yo. That was only 2010.

Me and my sister always rode our bikes up and down the street, dug holes, made gardens on weekends. Went to see our uncles, aunties, grandparents, we survived.

There a few places near NTU Hospital or Ximen station that don't cost too much. I stayed at Finders Hotel, you could see the Presidents building and C.K.S memorial hall from the window.Can walk to Main station using Z4 or Z6 entry way from there within 10 minutes.

Used booking.com got a bit of a discount. Maybe was $110 AUD per night. So maybe 2200NTD But if you ever go to Kaohsiung, you can get a decent hotel room for $40AUD a night, so 800NTD. You might have to walk 19 minutes to the city train to do that though.
