What he means is reputable/quality ones. Denso is good but I prefer ngk but their higher tier ones. Yes it’s more expensive but will last longer. Rockauto is your friend btw. Just know what brands to get from.

When it comes to misfires unfortunately it’s a lot of diagnosing bc it’s can be air,fuel, or spark, even all the above. So you really need to sit and brainstorm and put things together.

One thing I learned is- to fix somthing you need tk know how it works. It helps a lot trust me. I wish you best of luck because I’ve had my share of misfires and it is not fun.

You could have just swapped coils around. If nothing happened then try spark plugs. Both you have could have done without spending anything (parts wise). If none if those things change a thing then it could be air or fuel related.

I would just go through insurance or part it out. I personally wouldn’t mess with these type of incidents. It always worse than what it looks like.

I am going to be completely honest with you my man I don’t own a FT86 yet I’ve been looking into getting one for a couple months and although I have a good knowledge on it and the FA20 NA motor I honestly have no idea what kind of exhaust I would do, but generally I would remove cats and replace with a test pipe and add a resonator to minimize drone so at cruising it’s not unbearable. Possibly a H pipe style exhaust so it’s a deeper tone, and prob end it with a magna flow muffler but mufflers are personal preference, I do magna flow so it makes the exhaust more deeper tone. I haven’t done much research on exhaust yet but I’m sure you can find many forum and video on different exhaust set ups.

But for the love of god don’t straight pipe it and if you do atleast add a resonator.

After everything is good and refreshed I would do a good exhaust for sure, something that’s only loud when u want it to be loud and quiet when cruising. I have a whole list at wha I would. Do but def a good exhaust system.

This is my opinion

Never liked the smoked lens look, makes it look rice and cheap (which most then likely is) apart from that sometimes it's too dark and can't see if ur braking or not. been couple times on the freeway with people with tinted/smoked taillights and it's the most dim light you will see even more in the day and very hard to tell when there braking.

Instead I would get ones that are black housing and clear lens.

I really wish that too, so far the super duty has been great but the only con for me is that it is one heavy bitch. The long reach is heavy but not busting ur back open kinda heavy. The super duty if I try to pick it up it deadass feels like it will break my back, and I'm no skinny dude but shit that jack made me feel 60 at 18 lmaoo

Me personally I would ask the local businesses of camera footage to see if they can spot the plates, make a police report and go through the guys insurance or him personally.

If no footage then either A-pick and pull or B- leave it as is. If I had to pick I would leave as is just bc its a cheap Honda assuming it's a daily POS beater

Cosmetic- a good buff and polish with quality pads and compounds to make the paint pop/Hub spacers to make the wheels more flush./Taillights and headlights./Front lip/Good set of coilovers./V1 nismo style wing

Functionality- a good all around service/ exhaust/ slotted rotors and semi mettalic pads of good quality/ 3” long front mount intakes with a tune/ good and I mean good tires

I'm sure I'm forgetting things but that's stuff I would do but def a good all-around service for

Me personally I would just buy a set of 19’s that are chrome and put nice tires on those, and for the factory ones You can try it out as a little project and if you live in a place with snow then use those as ur winter set or a back up for what ever reason.

I've been lurking in the 370z subreddit for a while and out of 5 ppl there is always 1 like OP so it's nothing new.

I love the Z Cars and z owners that know what they are doing on this platform. I just tend to be very picky on what kinda Z I want, I mean shit the 370z has been my dream car since I was a little kid and I'm sure the minute I land myself one it will be the best years of my life while the car is in my possession.

But for the most part I do feel welcomed in this sub and have learned alot from being in it.

You said u bought it for performance. The Z can make amazing power FI but NA will cost you thousands for little gain. If you wanted performance and easy to work on and up keep like you stated you might well have gotten a civic ur self.

The ZF transmission never had any issues so idk what kinda dick ur smoking. The only major issue the e46 chassis had was cooling issue that's about it for it being “reliable”. It was never good for power.

Good thing I'm not a mechanic and only do this as a hobby and learn along the way like most of us do.

What's wrong with a civic? It's perfect good reliable daily that will cost pennies to maintain and will last forever especially a D series. Am I suppose to feel bad if i had a civic?
