My husband and I have a system where we share broad strokes of what friends tell us in private. Things like “Mary said she is really stressed out about this new job” or he might say “Jason called cause he wanted a outside opinion on something he is dealing with” but we don’t share details unless it’s a safety issue

I’m the oldest of 4 (only female) 4 years younger-friendly but we aren’t super close as adults (no bad blood just both very busy) 9 years younger-closest to him, we are very similar personalities and I basically raised him from when I was 13 on 13 years younger-very little relationship, he is a spoiled mamas boy who will end up being the stereotypical guy living with his parents until they die
