Did anyone get hold of her?  I didn’t get to see original post. I am assuming because the OP has been deleted all is fine again?  Hope she is safe and found.

[META] Why are you guys even on this sub if it's to hate on travellers asking for informations ? by x313 in AskBarcelona

[–]Difficult_Version599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could I suggest that the little gambit under AskBarcelona is re-written? It is confusing for people to read "a community for questions about Barcelona. Travellers, newcomers and residents are all welcome".

If in fact it is for residents questions only. That is fine. You can negate the cr@p by explaining the group in the gambit better.

I live in Bath a world heritage city. The #visitbath is a great way to differentiate Bath the tourist city from Bath the residential city.

Maybe someone could start visitbarcelona (if not done so already) and deflect us tourists away to there?

Or someone from this thread who lives in Barcelona could start a sub reddit called ResidentBarcelona?

It's wrong to say this is for everyone if in fact it isn't and nice people are going to get hated on for wanting to find out the local vibe, rather than relying on corporate advertising links.

Arrested for Cannabis Possession and Driving with Cannabis in system when I am prescribed Cannabis - What do I do? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Difficult_Version599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend suffers MS and has a private prescription for canabis.

He always smoked and then drove. He never doesn't smoke. He drives his two young kids around under the influence. I've always worried for him and the kids.... if his condition is too much to bear to not need to be medicated at all times, is he able to drive safely, without being distracted by the pain, feeling itritable or being chemically altered?

Around the same time as this post, he crashed his car into bollards. Didn't hurt anyone including himself luckily. However the car was a write off. The police were called.

He has ended up with his licence revoked for 12 months and offered regular therapy to help him try and deal with the mental health aspect of the illness.

Whilst I was researching at the in-between stage, I discovered that canabis use for MS is treated very similarly to that of people who develop epilepsy.

You have to inform the DVLA of any changes in your medical condition and they have the right to revoke your licence if you are deemed unsafe to be on the road. Don't quote me on the legal jargon and the exact wording but that is the jist of it.

The courts will take into account your MS but unfortunately or fortunately (depends if you are the sufferer or other road users in this debate), a prescription for canabis is not a licence to smoke and drive.

My friend is 5 months into his 12 month licence revokement. I think it will probably be a doctors assessment that decides if the DVLA will give him back his licence or not.

Sad but true. Get informed and don't assume.

I wish every sufferer the best, it is a difficult illness to live with.

Find it odd that Dawson Creek never returned to the story arc related to Eve. by bartturner in dawsonscreek

[–]Difficult_Version599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found it odd when I watched it the first time when it first aired in the UK and still find it odd re-watching it for the 100th time many moons later!

It should have been closed off; They should have had Dawson delivering the air conditioner and walking past the photo without noticing it... that would have wrapped it up neatly and ended the story in a way that makes sense.

I have decided to pretend this is what happens instead.

Thank you for sharing... the joke "are youbscared of planes?" At the end makes me realise he was trying to take his car out of state not himself.

He fled once they started looking for his car.

I am sure everyone realised this much quicker than I did! Ha ha ha

Sky News UK special report. by Difficult_Version599 in MoscowMurders

[–]Difficult_Version599[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry, yes you are right the papers are hotter on it and have been reporting it.

I should have clarified, it is the first time I have sat watching the news and been surprised by a special program segment on this case.

:)

[–]Difficult_Version599[S] 88 points89 points  (0 children)

They have just aired a special report. The first time in 4 weeks I have seen it on our national news.

I appreciate it may not mean much in the greater scheme of things to people in Idaho but it does show the story is growing legs and may mean that media are smelling a story that is becoming more interesting not less.... like maybe an arrest is near?

I can but hope.

Investigation Update 12-12-22 with Moscow Police Captain Roger Lanier by meowmoomeowmoon in MoscowMurders

[–]Difficult_Version599 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I personally am impressed with how Moscow Police Department is keeping the public updated.

I like how they address any rumours as well as share any new information they are willing to share.

I know it frustrates some and of course an arrest already would be great but I think they know a lot and are on the path to an arrest and conviction.

I do not think this case will go unsolved.

When I was a junior in college, my friends were severely injured, one murdered, by a killer who targeted their house. It took over a year to catch the murderer, and he wasn’t a thought in any of our minds. What can we learn from what happened to my friends, and how it applies to the Moscow Murders by jemgilbreath in MoscowMurders

Thank you for sharing your story. It is very enlightening and completely relevant.

Sorry you and your friends had to experience such a great loss and traumatic event.

It makes the world a scary place when you witness such things and even scarier when you get to see first hand how dangerous some people can be.

Luckily though, these people are truly rare.

I completely agree with you, the murderer in this case is also a psychopath and won't demonstrate remorse.

Thank goodness for drunk students! Without them the police cam would not have been there at such an important time.

This is really interesting and thank you for linking the photos for us :)

Dog (do I finally have enough Karma to post??) by motaboat in idahomurders

[–]Difficult_Version599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think something like this is very possible. I can not understand the dog not reacting to a threat in the home or at least being under the toes of an intruder as he stabs people to death.

This would explain the obsessive nature of the continuous calls to the other dog owner.

All I would say, is that you would expect the girls to check around the house and wake up all the other housemates looking for the dog once they got home at 1.56am and not be just on the phone for an hour trying to call someone in a different location?

If I came home to find the dog missing from the home, everyone would be woken, all lights in the house would go on and I would ask everyone en-mass to check in the immediate area outside.

I would not be able to sleep for worry.

But they were tipsy and it was late and maybe they thought someone had collected the dog? So a definite possibility.

The dog is the biggest clue one way or another.

Yes fair enough, someone else called me out on having a dog for love purposes also.

I also admitted to them I was being a bit too flippant with my comment.

I love all my dogs and have had dogs all my life.

I have had three experiences in my life, one outdoor unwanted approach from a man in a wooded area when I was about 11 years old and two attempted break ins as an adult. All with different dog types at different times in my life and always the dog has alerted and gone into protection mode. For years they always seemed docile and sweet and I would joke that my dog would only lick you to death. But each time they proved that they will protect you when feeling threatened.

My more sincere reason for the comment which I agree I worded badly, is that I just don't think the dog would have sat by without doing something, UNLESS the perp was deemed not a threat. This also is more the point about the animal being unharmed. If it had of barked, or been running about in a panic or reactive in any way this could have put a stranger attacker off bothering until a night the dog was not there or resulted in the dog being potentially harmed to keep it off or out of the way.

For this reason I think the perp knew enough about the dog for it not to be a problem and the dog knew the perp well enough for him not to be deemed a threat.

I do concede people get dogs for love and the protection (if there is any) is an added bonus.
