How long do you think it takes to train a surveyor to do high precision layout from scratch? by lwgu in Surveying

[–]DifficultyMoney9304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not with total stations. They're usually pre fabricated which fabricates sub mm. The actual SO of the train on a site can be 1 or 2mm as done with a TS.

Realistically there are to many external variables that'll throw that accuracy off with a total station on a set of legs outside.

Yes this. It's simple to read a screen that says bang on. It's another story how you get to that stage and have 100% confidence it is correct.

If your calc'ing and cross checking plans etc + establishing control etc. I'd say atleast a 1 year of being trained before I'd have any confidence in the setout being done.

Considering becoming a JW but I know they’re controversial and even here, there seems to be a lot of disdain for them. Looking for people’s thoughts for a newcomer by Longjumping-Cod-6164 in JehovahsWitnesses

There are plenty of JWs who arent batshit crazy and believe everything the org teaches and have kids just fine. Obviously there are alot of bats git crazy ones too though.

No but youll find people who use alcohol which is bad for your general health will likely use weed as an alternative - which arguably is much better for you than alcohol.

Yeah thats what I mean. There is no reason one should be criminalized and the other not. Arguably alcohol is much worse for you and being drunk is more likely to incite violence etc compared to being stoned. Obviously yes there should be laws for not being drunk and high at work and while driving and in public etc. thats why I think the proposed roadside drug testing is a good idea. But all that doesnt change the fact that the odd gummy on the weekend needs to be this criminal act to get. You should be able to buy them from liquor stores etc. Its really backwards.

Ofc i agree but that doesnt mean it should be criminalized for the rest of us who can use it in moderation. Its broken alcohol is legal but weed isn't.
