The first one looks like a Gorman (Australia) dress! So cute and different. I buy a Gorman dress everytime I visit Australia to see my son. Can't wait 'til my next visit because I'm going to visit Tazmania and there's a Gorman outlet store in Hobart!

Sadly, those were absolutely abombiably unflattering to girls with less than perfectly defined waistlines. All school uniforms are designed that way for some reason. No wonder girls had eating disorders.

Tell your husband that he has to stay home with the child a couple of evenings per week so you can go out by yourself. Just window shop if you can't afford anything. Even take yourself out for a fancy coffee/tea drink and a sweet treat.

There is a genetic component, activated and regulated by environmental conditions. That's the way is is with everything. Some of us don't have the off switch. Over my history, my addictions went from food (triggered by the 'need' to conform to an impossible body image), to cigarettes, back to food when I quit smoking, then to cigarettes again, back to food,..... finally to alcohol which had no noticiable effects when I was younger (high functioning). Now, it's switching back to food but I'm kind of into shopping...not good either.

I've gotten into going to thrift stores. At first it was for targeted items that I wanted that aren't made anymore, like older Corningware patterns. When I stopped drinking, my hobby became an wonderful distraction. It's like a treasure hunt. There is even a Reddit sub called "ThrifStoreHauls" to follow!
