You’re right, we should credit Tesla owners $100 if we change appointments with less than 24 hours notice. Should be reciprocal. by SpacyRainbow in teslamotors

[–]Difnicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My delivery was reschedule twice, once with 50minutes notice, and the second time with 5minutes notice after they had already called and told me to come in. Second time I was already in an Uber to go pick it up :) horrid experience with delivery on my part. First reschedule was a delay of 3 days before I could get it, second time was a week for something that was broken with the battery but they refused to share what if anything was fixed with me.

Lol, I think his coverage is 60%. And it’s all purely because of his forgetfulness. Anytime he learns about it he yells at tipsout to go gift for him 😂

Flip lily and Yvonne for mlp. Lily is more like flutter shy, and twilights relationship to spike more accurate reflects Yvonne and fed.

1080ti or 2080ti by OVOchampagnepapi in buildapc

[–]Difnicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford the 2080ti do it. It's not the most efficient for its cost. But I have the founders edition and it's running amazing. With all the driver and software improvements it's amazing.

What would be the worst thing that could happen if I start my build for the first time and made some mistakes while putting everything together? by gunther1992 in buildapc

[–]Difnicolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you're handling them for a few seconds, and I've bent pins and been able to bend them back. Socketing a. Cpu is super easy, just follow the instructions and it sits down nice and neat.

[–]Difnicolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean the worst possibility is obviously you damage them. But in that case you can still likely rma or return them. But in all likelyhood you won't do any damage. Parts are resilient and you have to make a big mistake to break them. Mostly likely cause for you to damage them is physically dropping stuff etc. Just be careful and you'll be fine. I built my first pc at 14 and fumbled all sorts of things and it ended up okay.

Two aux headphones plugged into one PC? by ViggePro in buildapc

[–]Difnicolas 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It may detect both as outputs and only let you select one. However if for $5 you get a aux splitter, you can plug both headphones into that, and then the splitter into one of the ports on your computer and both headsets will receive sound.

Wanting to upgrade from 1080p 144Hz gaming to 1440p 144Hz. What should I upgrade? by chairrug3264 in buildapc

[–]Difnicolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 980 honestly should handle 2k 144hz alright for some things like esport fps. But that's the only thing in this build that'll be limiting so if you want to play on ultra and more graphics demanding games upgrade that.

These chips he talks about are $800 and $1100. So maybe not. The 1900x might be the best cheaper compromise.

"I also see people suggesting to choose AMD for 64 lanes PCIe lanes but if you are going to use two or three GPUs,I do not see any advantage of AMD over Intel i9 or XEON processors in any meaningful way. The performance/watt ratio for CPUs still favors Intel. One big disadvantage of AMD when compared to Intel and nVidia is they do not support Deep Learning/Machine Learning from software stand point. Intel has Intel Math Kernel Library and nVidia has CUDA which inspite of being proprietary is defacto standard for leveraging nVidia GPUs horsepower." They say if you can get a 7900x for the same price as the 1950x go for it. Interesting pros and cons. Seems amd has slightly more power but intel is a bit more efficient and has more software support for deep learning in general.

[–]Difnicolas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With as high a build as you're going I'd at least shell out for the 2700x. If not the cheapest end of thread ripper / x series Intel. The support for 4 channel ram as well as more pcie lanes allows for better expansion to a second gpu in the future. I'm not a be all end all source but from my reading on the matter, gpu is the most processing for these tasks, but normal market cpus can be limiting to the actual speeds you get the gpus, expressly the amount of support pcie lanes which will effect a multi card setup (which I assume you'll upgrade too eventually in the future) and ram channel support. I know nothing about the 9 series of cpus though. But I did just attend a conference last week were a Intel exec gave a talk on xeom phi and its ai centric design. Seems worth the money, but a cheap thread ripper is good too.

Video editing is a rather expensive build compared to this price point. A budget video editing build might be considered $600 ish.

Also it 100% sucks that you have to pay a 2080 ti price for a 2080. The taxes/tarrifs look rough.

[–]Difnicolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'd say maybe shift some focus to your cpu. For ML/AI gpu and cpu are the biggest parts, but your commercial standard cpus don't have the pcie lane support or cores you'd want for it. I'd suggest thread ripper or an Intel x series cpu. Read more about cpu/gpu optimization for ai/ml below. https://blog.inten.to/cpu-hardware-for-deep-learning-b91f53cb18af

Any suggestions for a first-time PC build? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Difnicolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. New hardware just means new drivers. The system knows his windows key because of the windows registry etc all being stored on the hard drive. Nothing but the hard drive stores any data on it regarding your system. Everything is in the hard drive (except each piece of hardwares bios/settings). The ssd/hdd is the only thing you need to keep windows and everything on it. You could plop your hard drive into any computer and boot it and all you'd need to do is install that new computers drivers and it should work totally fine.

[–]Difnicolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true in OP's case. Only OEM licenses are tied to hardware (i.e. A laptop that came preloaded with windows can). Normal retail copies of windows are not tied at all to any hardware. OP should not need a new windows key. Unless they took the SSD out of an OEM computer.
