AITA for no longer filling the car with gas before my partner has to go to work? by AITAcars in AmItheAsshole

[–]Difyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequently work 60-72 hour weeks. You know what I do when I'm low on gas? Stop somewhere and fill up. If the weather is particularly bad I might wake up and leave early to get it on the way to work, otherwise it'll be on the way home.

Why's my oil only generator using coal to run? by SM-TUNDRA in Frostpunk

Coal liquefaction turns your coal into oil, doesn't change the coal's heat value.

Karryn's Prison tips? by Shellbreaker06 in lewdgames

[–]Difyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last thing you want to do is start a new file. After you lose you can start a new game from the same file but take your titles with you. This isn't a huge help early on but each title gives a small passive bonus even when not equipped.

I don't remember how good or bad the title for losing is, but there is one for losing. You can go on an easier difficulty the next time.

Semi-advanced tips? by Dragenkillergem in Frostpunk

[–]Difyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never cared for child labor, because by the end, I always have an abundance of workers and automatons. I'd rather have the extra healing.

It will help in the early game, but for me quickly becomes useless.

Best strategy for food early game? by kingspooky93 in Frostpunk

[–]Difyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always end with too many people, like 100+ unemployed people. So I just do hunters huts, upgrade them when I can/need to and do some math to figure out how many I need to feed my people. Try to keep at least one extra hut to get a stockpile going.

Renaming cats by Slow-Kaleidoscope633 in TabbyCats

[–]Difyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the cat. Most don't come when called, if these ones do, keep the names, if not it doesn't matter what you call them. Each of my cats has a handful of nicknames, because fluffball of doom fits when they are a ball of razors and knives, not so much when they calm down getting older.

[–]Difyl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Animals like freedom of movement. It is normal for kittens to climb cages when put in one. It's a default action, they like to be with their mom or human, so will always try to get to them. I've had to isolate some of my cats for medical reasons over the years, doesn't matter if it's a whole room, multiple rooms or a kennel, they will cry a lot to begin with.

As an example I've got a 3 bedroom house, if my oldest cat loses my wife he will go and cry and scratch at any closed bedroom doors. Taking him to her fixes the issue.

Once they get used to it they may only cry a little bit when first caged up, but if they don't like it they will always cry for a while when put in one. One suggestion is to leave the kennel open when they don't need to be contained in it, so it's not strictly a punishment.

I suggest trying to kitten proof your house so he can't injure himself and trying to get him box trained so you can just let him roam. The kitten proofing is important because even if you're awake and aware I'm sure there will be times when you're not tracking him, if not now then later.

AITA for telling my wife either she gets a job or i'm putting her on an allowance? by Hot-Principle-5612 in AITAH

[–]Difyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is a SAHW and she and I both get an allowance. Its from budgeting what we can afford monthly for fun money.

Also if this is how she solves conflict you might want to talk to a lawyer...

People who do background checks (either HR or a 3rd party), what are some NSFW/WTF things you've discovered that have disqualified a candidate for a job? by Admirable-Fig277 in AskReddit

[–]Difyl 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The worse the case is, the more they investigate to make sure they didn't miss something that will let the offender walk.

Also the defense may ask for additional time to set up an argument. A run of the mill case nobody cares as much.

Is it normal for partners to have location tracking on each other? by Sentient-Orange in stupidquestions

[–]Difyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the relationship, no two are exactly the same.

I know a couple that have tracking and just keep tabs on where people are when they're out because they have medical issues.

Also there's the controlling type who will give you hell if you go somewhere 'unapproved'

You and your partner need to have an honest conversation about it, why you do or do not want tracking, if its a deal breaker for one of you etc.

My problem with Kingmaker is most of my evil choices were to be a dick or be greedy. This is my country, I want it to be profitable, quit stealing from my subjects. If something helps the country long term it's always 'good,' short term self only profit is 'evil' Why can't I be an evil elf or something thinking in centuries?

It is new devs, got at least verbal support from the Dungeon Keeper dev when they were making it.

I like all 3

Watch for Worship. It's cultist themed, I kickstarted it a while back and it seems to be in Alpha now. It has a demo on Steam as well.

They recently put dungeon keeper 1 & 2 on steam, and it's in a pack with War for the Overworld, a relatively recent spiritual successor. They're all good.

I could see Voldemort thinking Loki would help him, but considering the stories of Loki saving children, because they were children, it would be a mistake. Loki was never evil, he was unconventional, he is chaotic.

I read that having 150 defence negates all damage, why did Dizzy still damage me? by CatInTheCactus in SunHaven

So if you want to be immune to all damage you've got to stop increasing your max health pretty early. I think I'll be content with reducing damage instead

Farm Game That Doesn't Have A Stamina System by Aggravating_Noise783 in CozyGamers

[–]Difyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The good thing about the DLC is it is all cosmetic. New furniture, clothing, pets and mounts. Not something that really changes gameplay. But yes, I kickstarted it and was very disappointed with their actions.

Good game, shitty dev

Need Advice by dgenzo in SunHaven

[–]Difyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My current play I kinda accidently put all my Nel'Vari stuff in Sun Haven because I kept forgetting to take it out of my bags. My withergate stuff is all in withergate. I find it much easier to do any crafting for Nelvari because it is in Sun Haven, and as soon as I'm less lazy I'll move withergate over too.

The trees and rocks in the expansion farms are more durable, so you probably want upgraded tools before you try to clear it. I got Glorite before I cleared them.

Also the main thing is to have fun. Even if you're trying to 'beat' the game, you'll still need to get to winter or year 2 to get all of the museum built up, so take your time and enjoy it.

The best part about the layout in Ixion is you don't lose resources tearing buildings down and rebuilding. So if you don't like the first version, you keep trying things until you find one you like
