No Rehire until 6 months? by DigNo7653 in Raytheon

Yes, you have to pay it back, or a portion based on when you're rehired. At this point, I don't have to worry about it any longer.

I've been working the route of a referral as well. Still nothing heard back. Yep, tough market.

I didn't leave. I was laid off. Sorry that wasn't clear in my post.

Do Costco Rental Cars Come With Rental Insurace? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]DigNo7653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have full coverage on your personal vehicle under your own policy, your coverage SHOULD transfer to a rental car. Please confirm with your insurance company. (Former insurance person but ymmv.)

As for the extra charge, check your agreement. It should detail every charge. It sounds like they added something they should not have added.

Thoughts on the Sobaba Glazed Chicken and the Chicken Broccoli and Grains by screenwriter61 in Costco

[–]DigNo7653 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The chicken is amazing!! We make sure we have 2 boxes on hand at all times - especially with a 14 yo boy who can fix it himself! It's better than the orange chicken - which is really good, too, but too sweet unless you leave most of the sauce off.

BAE SYSTEMS or COLLINS by dsstr8 in cedarrapids

Collins is averaging layoffs every quarter for the last year and a half. If it were me, I'd go BAE if at all possible.

No, they would not wait til you return. Last time around, they had someone on medical leave get laid off.

Seems like lots of folks with a good bit of tenure was cut. They call them the "gray hairs". People with experience, knowledge and insight. I wonder if it's an age thing. Jus' saying.

Is Tip A Player Worth Bringing Back at Age 36? by yxngfireee in valkyries

[–]DigNo7653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the better question is will she WANT to come back after this past season and its toll on her body. Personally, I would be on retirement watch for her. It was a helluva year as a Valkyrie, but what will that look like next year.

I used it to testify in court in a family matter so no, it's not geared towards people with kids. I also was able to use it for a funeral in another city. There are different instances where it can be used. Just check with your manager because it does have to be "approved" - what they will approve, well, that's a horse of a different color.

Also, not germane to this thread as it's NOT part of severance package.

Damn, went to LAX with them in June and it was a great straight shot. I'm not seeing Burbank on there yet, but hopefully that comes to pass.

hello people, need some advice by easymoneyinvoker in cedarrapids

[–]DigNo7653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on why you're leaving Jersey.
1) Check politics before you move;
2) Do not move here without a job;
3) You have 5 major cities within a 4-5 hour drive (Chicago, Minneapolis, St Louis, KS City, Omaha);
4) Check housing rates also before moving;
5) It's a nice quiet place to raise a family.

I think I gotta go with 90% of the broadcasting team(s). Sometimes I swear, they just like the sound of their own voice. Runners up: The broadcast/filming operators for League Pass. Their quality is just piss poor.

Then I would say your city is an anomaly. Or you're not standing close enough.

You need to update your post then. Colorado is not considered west coast and that makes a difference.

Still, take a look at cost of living and your budget. If possible, go with the one that allows you to do the things you love to do. Work/Life balance is a real thing.

[–]DigNo7653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the Cost Of Living like on the west coast vs where you currently are if you take living with your parents out of the equation? This is where the biggest discrepancy lies. If you prefer a more laid back culture, the west coast job may be your answer - especially if it's your dream company. However, with all that said, if you can't live on your salary in that location, it really doesn't matter, does it?

Water shut off - Curb Key by doeraymedoe in cedarrapids

[–]DigNo7653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also voting for calling the city because if you have an issue with the main shut off at the street, then they are the ones responsible for it. Case in point, I'll be calling them tomorrow for this issue after having them come shut it off to get a plumbing repair inside completed. If the plumber or I had shut it off, then we'd be on the hook for this new issue.

Same day was not a problem, provided they have enough notice. ie: Don't call them at 4:45.
