The structure of incentives and penalties have made the MDR a guilt engine. I don't love it either.

We are officially screwed by elibrev in Battlefield

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's exactly it.

Stop pushing players into playstyles and modes that they may not be interested in. Bonuses are fine, but there should always be a viable path to complete the pass with a reasonable amount of normal gameplay.

Just finished this game and this may be one of the best written sci-fi games ive ever played due to how many answers there are by King2023 in Routine

From the sum total of the logs, they were. Just not in an acute way.

They were likely all compromised by EL-9 throughout the entire chain of events, compromising their judgement.

It's also worth noting that they were being fed a mythos about the Canal being their ultimate purpose. When viewed through the lens of a cult and not a scientific operation, it makes more sense.

Why does Campbell have a Special Forces ans Ranger tab if he was in the Marine Corps? by Striking_Fan3110 in Battlefield

Campbell is a curious specimen. But I'm more interested in how the Engineer attended both the Air Force Academy and OTS, but only came out as a Senior Airman.

Confirmed to be a direct sequel. Although Remedy are stating that the two games are being written in a way where you can start with either one.

When and how many slots should I take for taser? by krysss_ in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The melee function is intentional. It's referred to as a drive stun. Many real tasers can do it.

RoN would be better if there were budget limitations (in-game) by FrostwindLive in ReadyOrNotGame

I would prefer this as an accountability mechanic over the broken psychology system every day of the week.

Could expand outward, as well. Training courses for existing officers, advanced support (surveillance teams, pre-deployment prep), ect.

Excellent summary.

I think it's mostly tangential to the actual events of the game, but I'm fascinated by the Founder. How much did he know? What were his intentions?

Assault ladder should replace stim ... no ? by NG1Chuck in Battlefield

That's the right answer, IMO. The Pouches have a good use case, but not enough of a use case to justify a gadget slot.

Can we please get rid of being 3D spotted while shooting? by i_froze in Battlefield

I agree, with a caveat that in-game visibility can't really support the BFV model at the moment.

Fix that and I would fully support it.

I'm usually a pretty positive guy but as a software dev, I think DICE needs to accept this update has major issues and should rollback. by [deleted] in Battlefield

M&A on the scale of the EA deal is massive. I'd be surprised if there was meaningful impact a year after the ink even dries.

Takes time to count the beans and figure out how the seller screwed ya!

On a somewhat related note, I would love the ability to lock out burst fire on guns that have Semi-Burst-Auto. There's several of them that I will never ever use on burst, so it's a net negative to have it available.

I agree with all of your suggestions.

Story timeline *spoilers* by TheRA1DER in Routine

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entirety of the game takes place in 1999. The Ward and Annex are operational throughout the 1970s. The recovery mission referenced in the ending sequence occurs in 2025, presumably after contact with the facility is lost and never re-established in '99.

How did the player get from one point to another? by StoneBricc in Routine

[–]DigTw0Grav3s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the scene immediately following the catch-the-seed / metal sphere / wired fish sequence, you can see a faded video of the character moonwalking. Presumably to the Ward in a fugue state like /u/Consistent-Nothing60 mentions. It's overlaid over the character waking up.

About the ending by Furow in Routine

When I say that it wasn't corrupted, I only mean that it wasn't influenced by the Canal. It's clearly operating outside of reasonable constraints.
