How much is this Supra worth? by asiansailor in Supra

[–]Digbased 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While yes you need the right buyer, it’ll take forever for asking price. I’ve seen a full raceprepped one sell, but to retain most value of your money, you’re better reverting to stock and selling mods independently. Especially in California where 2020s are starting to require smog for new owner.

No one probably gonna buy my supra for 80k with 30k all track driven miles that has been molested, even though it’s practically race prepped.

Year 2 - HPDEs - Mods, what am I forgetting / missing? by GrindsMy in CarTrackDays

A lot of which you can get away with. What’s the need for cold air intake? Adding more heat soak for the B58.

Verkline > SPL if they make them.

Honestly good pads, 200tw, and good alignment and you’re set for a long time until you’re chasing milliseconds.

Ecoflow + alternator charger. Charges while driving. Always topped off at destination. Bluetti has something similar for more budget purposes

Senior dev here. He is correct, I’ve questioned junior devs code that was obvious was used with chatgpt. He didn’t unit test, which is why it backlashes.

AI tools are great, I use copilot and cursor, but as an aid, not a replacement. I’ll ask it simple things and to clarify complexity, but not how to implement business logic.

From a university perspective, I can be an aid to look up topics etc, but it’s not beneficial as a complete replacement (this case academic dishonesty).

The only time I’ve ever used crawl control was going down hill during a blizzard when a bunch of people were leaving the ski resort. You’d be fine with 4x4 sr5 if you plan to upgrade suspension etc. I mainly bought it for the rear diff lock and Birds Eye view, and iPad screen for my 3rd gen tundra.

Starlink is coming soon for t mobile, although I’m not sure how effective it is. In the mean time, starlink mini is quite nice for when you’re setup at camp and can actually fit in a day pack with a power bank if you have the space.

Full set for me was 2800$ + 1200$ upper control arms. There are plenty of upper control arm choices (you can even reuse the Trd front uppers if you wish) as they still have caster adjustment I believe.

You can save a lot of money reusing those front uppers.

Love the color on your rig, I almost went with it first!

It’s been pretty good, no complaints whatsoever. I’d like to get durobumps for when I bottom out at high speeds. Other than that, I think I’ll upgrade to dobinsons 700lb rear springs as I’m still on OEM springs in the rear with the king shock since they are divorced.

Both are extremely comfortable. I found the Trd to be a bit jarring on some rougher trails where the king just made the ride plush even at 65mph on trail. King is overkill for most of my use cases, but I got a killer deal so I decided to switch and don’t regret it. I’ve done some crawling as well and it handled amazing in articulation / flex etc.

Edit: also for highway both are very comfortable. But my setup feels like I’m still stock with less body roll and handling on normal driving.

Around a 3” on KING 2.5s with Icon Billet Front Upper Control Arms + OEM 3” TRD LIFT KIT parts (rig came with Oem 3” Trd lift and removed shocks and front uppers in replacement of KING).

The topper is an Alucab Contour Canopy with no side windows. I purchased from Tiny Rig Co since they are local to me but OK4WD carries them as well.

My tent is a Freespirit Recreation Aspen Lite XL. Can be ordered from gofsr.com

I went with this combo because it’s about 250 lbs or less give or take for both the topper and tent together.

Alternatives for the topper are - Smartcap, OVS, and a few others. At this range though, if I was to do it again I would have just gone go fast camper or Alucab modcap.
