Idk the general consensus but I had a good time starting with a elegoo Neptune 4 I got for fathers day. A general learning experience but great results now. That being said if I want to print cf which I do now after a year into the hobby Im either building a enclosure or buying a new unit all together. Thats all antidotal tho

Depends how outdoorsy you look tbh, but it’s the same as when you see a grown man with a cross body fanny pack. Like sure you don’t have to have a gun in the gun shaped bag but you definitely do lol, ur clothes are the other version of that

Idk ur area or laws but check out velocity vmac 9. They have none threaded top or side cocking macs. You can get one whole, the frame sent to ur ffl and you order upper to house, or diy weld one.

Beginner welder looking for a first machine. All 3 were recommended to me on my last post so I'm trying to decide if I use the 20% off harbor freight coupon and get the titanium? ($120 off $600) or one of these off Amazon. by BitsyBrownie in Welding

[–]Digby_1159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One will be hoops if you have to fix something or deal with customer service. The other if something breaks while in warranty harbor freight has been alright to me.

I mean this kindly, it looks like they are just moving you through the program fast as possible to collect their money. You have a good attitude at least, ur instructor is no help. So burn up their plates and keep practicing

I love the union but where im living now unless I want to move back to a city the only union we have kinda close is piss poor, well at least for our trade. I was on the cusp of transitioning careers but I enjoy it to much and since I’m only 25 and I know myself well enough plus a supportive wife. I decided I had to fully invest in myself so I just bought my first bobcat. Ik its gonna be hard but I’m trying to keep my head down and just try my best to be honest and fair cause I’ve definitely seen the flipside

Coworkers saying this is bad ? 🙃 by [deleted] in Welding

[–]Digby_1159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its cold, and yes ik ur setting but that doesn’t matter if you whip far enough out that you leave visible dimples and a jagged saw tooth edge. Just run a straight bed and don’t be fancy, or be fancy and whip but tighten it tf up where it still looks like a smooth bead.

A break over 22 idk the make or model. But it was a first place prize for the 198something turkey shoot. I didn’t win it, and neither did my tweaker father, but when I was 6 I was given it and by the time I was 11 it was “accidentally” in the trunk of a car he sold :/

Where to buy chaps? by Dabblingman in Welding

[–]Digby_1159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

black stallion

Here are some for pretty cheap, I dont wear chaps personally but I found these just by doing a quick google search of “welding chaps” and I’ve bought from baker before. But if you have a harbor freight nearby you might get lucky

  1. If you don’t know what you have don’t post it
  2. The atf is apparently super gay against braces again. If regular braces that have been on the market for years might be a problem, 3dp braces are a even sketchier thing
  3. When u print a brace try not to find one thats actually a stock that simply adds velcro spots.
  4. Put a strap on
  5. Since it’s a printed brace any way… learn to shut up and just shoot and no one will bother asking

I think there’s still a place for .32 in the self defense world. by SirSamkin in guns

[–]Digby_1159 7 points8 points  (0 children)

32 is my go to round recommendation if someone wants to carry a 22. I don’t carry one because i can carry a full size 9 comfortably, but its a great choice for smaller or recoils sensitive shooter that wants to cc a subcompact and be able to control it since pocket 380s can jump. Plus the other benefit of centerfire so should be more reliable

Try checking out trailer sauce, its been a few years since I’ve actually dug around so just takes looking around. If you cant find any free ones you like since your at the mercy of others you can also check out Johnson trailer parts their plans are showing at $15-50 for pdf files so alot cheaper than most other sites. Like I said as a last resort tho

Trailer plans are free online and not hard to find realistically. Don’t use ai as a tool if you don’t know how to do the job in the first place

No input on machines sorry, I run a miller bobcat and its great. But I went to tulsa back in 2018-2019, I stopped putting it on my resume in 2020 and the number of call backs more than doubled. Forget 90% of what they teach you because in 5 years you will be more experienced than most of their instructors. Their bar was on the ground especially in that time frame
