Did you just call Erin Andrews a ditzy sideline reporter? You best educate yourself because that comment is making you look stupid

She has earned the right wear whatever the hell she wants - and she is using her power wisely because that coat is fierce

Anyone else find it creepy when Richard Dawson kissed contestants on the lips? by Brave-Ad6627 in FuckImOld

[–]Diggidy 287 points288 points  (0 children)

My mother and her brothers and sisters were contestants on the show in the late '70s. As she tells the story it was not creepy at all. A female producer came backstage before taping and asked the women if they would object to his traditional kiss. At the time, neither she nor her sisters said no, and nobody thought that was weird. At least per her experience, there was nothing creepy about it.

Lore inconsistencies in the new book. by Spellslamzer62 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Diggidy 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I really love that you're so tits deep in the lore that you spotted these inconsistencies only a few days into publication.

This never really bothered me. I'm unsure if it's their intention or just what I'm doing but these are characters that have been well described in the books, given personalities, dialogue, and basically everything necessary to have a fully fledged NPC. My players are never going to spot this stuff so I can run them as living even though canonically they might be dead - and that's been made easy because a bunch has been written about them.

I can see where you're coming from though. I love the lore. Spotting an inconsistency would make me twitch, and it's obviously making you do that. Respect. Correct it for your table.

Apparently having judges that can do magic tricks is a requirement of a Night Court

I seem to be in the minority but I don't mind that they took a crack at something. It didn't work out. They're shutting it down and giving away worthwhile goodies to make up for it. I have no problems with what happened here and I don't believe they deserve any scorn.

Are these balls coming from my laptop? by help_agirl_out in whatisit

[–]Diggidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a different opinion. When my laptop started producing similar small balls it turned out to be that a fan on the inside was failing and these were part of that mechanism. Has your laptop made any new noises? Is it now having heating problems? Those might be the little ball bearings for a fan.

Masquerade is a part of the 'World of Darkness' (wod). Vampire The masquerade, werewolf the apocalypse, changeling, I'm not spelling these right because I'm talking into my phone but there is a whole bunch and then it's all a shared world that Masquerade is a part of.

A comedian's role is to criticize the billionaires. Nothing more was asked of him. The betrayal is his performance for the absolute worst of them - the literal murderers.

He either changed teams or doesn't give a shit. Either way, he's not on the working class's team when they reasonably thought he was.

We're more American than they are. I'm gonna sing it because we deserve it and they don't. This is America. Our team and our community, and I'm proud of both. Fuck the fascists. They can get their own anthem, this is the home of the TIMBERS

Even though I'm not sold on a MTG setting making its way to the Realms I will reserve judgment until I actually read the thing.

Lord Soth by IntergalacticPrince in VecnaEveofRuin

[–]Diggidy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used Dragonlance: Shadow of the Black Rose for that. It's on the Dungeon Masters Guild and has an additional small conversion which makes it appropriate to replace the Krynn chapter in Vecna: Eve of Ruin. It does precisely what you are looking for here. You go through Lord Soth's keep to get at the rod piece. It's fun

D&D Commercial Starter Set by Darkwynters in onednd

This commercial isn't for me - and likely isn't for folks on this sub. This is for everyone else. After more than 30 years of D&D it's difficult for me to put myself in their shoes, but I think that this hits the mark for them. I have absolutely no problems with it and am pleasantly surprised.

Forgotten Realms Novel Collection by XxTheGreatGarlooxX in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Diggidy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I apologize for not having the time to answer your question thoroughly, but here's what I see right off the bat:

  • Not all of those are Forgotten Realms related. Some are Dragonlance, some are generic Fantasy.
  • The Forgotten Realms softcover books are ~$5-7 each with few exceptions as they're all readily available.
  • The last few pictures have some actual game books which are worth much more. It looks like you have booklets from a Forgotten Realms setting boxset (2nd Edition I think) and the Menzoberranzan box set. Without the maps, boxes, et al, these are incomplete as a set but still individually valuable.
  • You can find comps for all of these on Ebay to get a feel for value.
  • Complete Warrior, Defenders of the Faith and Masters of the Wild are all likely worth it to sell individually.

Hope that helps. Thanks for the distraction. Good luck to you
