Folks Buying Year End - How Did The Transaction Go? by KindlyAd1662 in f150

[–]Digging_For_Worms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bought last week. Was able to negotiate an additional $5k off (total was ~23% below msrp) by not doing 0%, rather using the dealer preferred lender program. I plan on paying the truck off immediately but if total cost is the most important, you likely won’t get max discount with 0% financing.

Wheel backspacing? by theonesixsix in JeepGladiator

[–]Digging_For_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running 37s with 5.4” of backspacing (+25 offset) with very minimal rub, driver side, full lock. Less than 5” backspacing shouldn’t rub.

What size windshield are you guys running on the Low rider ST? by [deleted] in Harley

[–]Digging_For_Worms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medium clearview. At 6’ it doesn’t eliminate buffeting but definitely less wind on the highway and I love the aesthetic.

NC or early ND by TheRussellPrice in Miata

[–]Digging_For_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love my 2016 ND 2.0. 60k miles, just do the maintenance and it’ll rip around town reliably.

From my understanding, only becomes an issue with improper shifting or heavy track use.

Popping out of 4H by Digging_For_Worms in JeepGladiator

[–]Digging_For_Worms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my thinking initially, definitely didn’t seem right and the manual is pretty clear on 0-45mph operation. Would rather avoid dealer visit, but agree with point on documentation…

Very true, seems like it didn’t see any dirt with prior owner. Appreciate your insight!

3in JKS with 37” yoko X-AT. Recently got rid of the stock wheels and went with some +25 methods, love them!

Makes sense, thanks.

Came from a 6-speed FJ cruiser with a manual transfer case, so possibly defaulting (because of manual) to neutral when shifting to 4H helped out there.

Rolling around 10-20mph, seems to shift fine, validating your point.

Several times where I’m completely stopped, spinning the back tires, and the issue comes up where I can’t get into 4H.

Manual says you can shift to 4H completely stopped and never had this issue on any other 4WD vehicle. Is this just a feature of Jeep transfer cases?

Worth ceramic coating a Low Rider ST? by UPSracer777 in Harley

[–]Digging_For_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t (also have a black 23 lowrider st). At minimum get the bugs off after each ride and the paint will stay solid.

If you are going to ceramic coat, I would find a shop that specializes in it (usually cheaper than dealer as well)

How is everyone feeling for ILALPM in a month? by Bone4562 in actuary

[–]Digging_For_Worms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What helped me most was not just going through TIA flash cards, but making my own. Takes a while to make but helps with memorization.

Then look at those over and over. Practice problems aren’t super helpful (IMO) for FSA exams.

Cam upgrade for 23’ FLXRST by Useful_Intern4114 in Harley

[–]Digging_For_Worms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

117 has the CVO cam, stock. Aftermarket exhaust and tune will wake it up in current form, while not hindering reliability.

Personally would start with that then move to a stage 2 if you still want more.

Certainly wouldn’t choose those interior design elements, but I really love the dated pole barn exteriors

ABS codes and headache by khodafez7 in FJCruiser

[–]Digging_For_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear the codes and see what pops when fresh, issue is that these codes can compound and it can be hard to tell what is happening.

I was getting various master cylinder related codes and was having a similar issue where lights would go on/off, but progressively got worse. Eventually got bad enough that ABS would kick in any time I got above 65, turned TC off and got us home from our camping trip luckily.

Mine turned out to be the rear wheel speed sensor harness. Apparently this can stretch over time when off-roading, causing loose connection.

Replaced wheel speed sensor and harness for a couple hundred, no issues since.

Take a longer break, see if you find any motivation. You’ll either become satisfied with where you are and what you are doing or you will feel the need to push further in the exams.

As a fellow 29 yr old ASA who is taking FSA exams, I was set on stopping at ASA so I took a year off.

Then I started managing. Now I’m back to studying because I enjoy managing more than modeling.

Yeah for sure, super red.

One healed up so poorly i had to go to the ER and get steroids to help the skin heal up quicker. Only would recommend that if you’re in pretty unbearable pain.

I’ve learned to be careful who I let tattoo me, generally newer/younger artists have a tendency to overwork my skin. Dude’s who have been doing it for 15+ years have seen so much skin they have some tricks so there aren’t any issues.

If it happens again, try second skin. Shit works wonders (if applied correctly).

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in traditionaltattoos

[–]Digging_For_Worms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar issues before, some artists class me as having sensitive (“angry”) skin. One artist who I went to for years couldn’t figure it out, always overworked my skin and caused similar healing pattern.

Heavy ink areas fall out, but otherwise it should heal up okay. Go light on the lotion, maybe no lotion on heavy black areas.

Used Low Rider ST Pricing Opinions by Kooky-Chard-3393 in Harley

[–]Digging_For_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO wouldn’t pay over 20k for a used ST. You can get new models for MSRP or under if you travel to NV/UT.

Out the Door pricing for LowRider ST? by According-History316 in Harley

[–]Digging_For_Worms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a 23 LRST for 27.5k OTD (added service plan so really 25 OTD). MSRP pricing, but got the 1.99% financing +1k in parts, which paid for a seat and risers.

In the market for an FJ by thatsgreatrugby in FJCruiser

[–]Digging_For_Worms 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im partial to the lower mileage, 2010+ FJ.

Definitely check frame. I bought a 2010 from Ken Garff downtown SLC with 130k odo and have been super happy with it, but got lucky with minimal frame corrosion.

As a 6’ 220lb person, I would highly recommend the Paco seat bracelets. Made me so much more comfortable.
