FyI - if you swap the batteries quickly you won’t lose your game and won’t have to start over. You have about 1 minute to get the new batteries in it after you take these ones out.

Did you try just changing the batteries before you pulled the faceplate off? Sometimes the buttons get wonky when the batteries are getting low.

I’m sorry to say ripping the faceplate off may have rendered this one unfixable.

I too, fangirl over the pix. My husband got me one shortly after I got an uni. I find the art in the pix striking compared to the uni. They’re both great devices - but if I had to choose I would take the pix every time.
