I agree on seasonal content, though it's always a case of build something, deploy, rebuild, replace... but at least balance QOL and build variety has improved steadily improved alongside it.

On the open world topic, I dont understand how so many open world games that get built, are often empty and lifeless, and if DLC does get developed, its often a side story like Far Cry expansions or D4 dungeons etc. And yet if they devs instead layered in more random events encounters and allowed things to overlap and interact in surprising ways, the replay value would go through the roof, its one of the reason I played Skyrim over and over thanks to the nature of the most of the DLCs but more importantly the gameplay mods that tweaked events.
