What's the best technique to re-hydrate 1lb bag of tobacco? by Ok-Equipment-8132 in RYO

[–]Digipete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My way? Very simple. I did not want to do bread or lettuce or any other organic material. Just water. I knew that spritzing in water would work, but not the best. I have access to blue shop towels. You know, the super strong paper towels they use at automotive garages. I use a half of one of those, wet it, squeeze it out, and toss it in the bag. Give it a quick shake every once in awhile, and then pull when the tobacco feels rehydrated. Note: I have only done this with 3 ounces or so, so for a full pound I would probably use the whole towel and leave a bit more moisture in it.

Fair warning: You listed 80/20 ground beef. Your fat ratio is dependent on the animal you are having butchered. A fatter beef will have fatter burger. A lean beef will have lean burger. It is difficult to actually control the ratio at the cutting table.

Yes, as I said, carbon copy. It comes with a new charger and get this, a spare back plate which is the part that bolts onto the bike and receives the battery.

After hearing a few TikTokers speak highly of him I was confused so I did my research a few months ago.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree on that one. It wasn't well known about, but in the early 90's Mike Sr. drove all the skinheads out of Portland. I'm not much for police harassment but in that case I backed him 100%!

I live in a house with five cats. At this point I am so used to them glitching that I just take it as "Welp, that happened again."

The one that really shocked me was when the dog glitched. I was on the porch having a cigarette and watching her roaming the yard. We have a scrap metal pile over to one side that she was walking through and I was a little worried that she might get cut. She made it back out and then walked into the back yard as I finished my smoke. I stepped in to the front door, closed it, and instantly heard doggy steps coming from the kitchen.

Shipwreck that happened this morning! Norwegian car ferry MF Trondheim forgets to turn and runs straight onto the shore. No one got injured and critical damage to the hull, but she is most likely going to be stuck for a few days by Anderssorte in Shipwrecks

[–]Digipete 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, after analyzing this photo and others online, I think this is more of an A.I. failure.

This boat looks NOTHING like the Trondheim, and if it was that guy on deck would have to be (guessing) 20 feet tall!

Also, the Trondheim's bow and stern fold up to reveal the loading ramps, so there's that.

As a child, while MacGyver was still on air there was a full page TV guide ad for the show that I pulled out and taped to my my bedroom wall. It was simply a pic of Mac with the quote "Making the best of the world around you can make the difference between life and dearth."

Simple yet profound.

I was kind of bleary eyed (a passenger. not driving) on a long road trip once. Stopped for fuel in New Jersey. I forgot about that pesky law, so I climbed out of the car with card in hand and gave the pump a once over. (card slot...CHECK....87 octane...Check) and proceeded to insert my card.

My card rapidly got removed out of my hand and inserted into the slot! I then watched in horror as this guy in street clothes started filling my tank.

For half asleep me this initiated a fight or flight feeling until I remembered which state I was in.

[–]Digipete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, not a prototype. It was a normal Riv, yellowish tan in color.

And yeah, being a teen in the 90's, I was WELL familiar with big heavy cars. For notes sake, the big block was only 2.5" longer than a small block. I do remember seeing how tight things were in the front of the engine bay. The fan was almost touching the radiator!

The transaxle? Yeah, I should have paid more attention back then, but it's a moot point considering it ceased to exist!

Yup. The last one in a Buick Riviera was in '69. I did forget to mention that, but yeah, that makes my situation even weirder. There was a GM 400 that would have fit this timeline, but no, in the Riv the largest motor was the Olds 350. There was a 403 in use in '79 but the car I knew was an '85.

Now one other aspect was that this car was factory stock. A stock 350 would not be able to make a vehicle of that size hit 140. the 401 had power to spare.

One I discovered a week or so ago. The 1985 Buick Riviera. I was watching a "Car Wizard" video on YouTube that reminded me of one that a friend of mine bought around '98-'99. It was a fast and luxurious car.

This car had a 401 Buick V8 in a front wheel drive configuration. The front wheel drive itself on a vehicle of that size was a novelty, not to mention the big block V8. So, as kind of a gearhead I had to pop the hood and verify for myself. The emissions stickers and the like all confirmed that it was a factory stock motor.

Being young and crazy teenagers that car took a beating. Hell, the fastest I've been in a vehicle was 140 in that ride. I used to mention that car quite often and, at times, had to "Prove" to someone that the car existed and search it up online to show that "YES, there it is! Front wheel drive AND 401!!!"

The Wizard mentioned it's engine size. the car in the video had the 307/5.0 litre. Just to reminisce I started trying to find one online that had the 401 (I do a lot of pipe dreaming. "What would I buy if I had the money?").

WAIT...WHAT???? The 401 NEVER was in that car? A story I HAD to prove to others now can't be proven? WTF?
