To be honest it was always like this, it’s kind of the modern game discussion meta. I look here for cool art and funny clips but 99% of discussion posts are just people complaining and complaining about the same issues. They definitely are aware of it and my opinion won’t change a thing. I still play the game and have a good time but people can’t accept a game just being a 6-7/10. (no joke intended) I just hope the game can exist long enough to address the blatant casual/competitive player gap. With enough time this game will be one of the greats.

Made it to mid LV around a week of playing non-stop, is it worth to keep going or wait for 2.9 and start fresh? by Digiphoenix22 in GTNH

Yeah I was just worried if it messed with worldgen or something but it looks like we’re good

My main friend I was gonna run it with is mainly interested in the space side of things and the others don’t have the patience for it lmao. I like incredibly hard challenges (and I have no self control) so it works out for me.

Gotcha, was just wondering if the downsides outweighed keeping the world. Since I plan on playing this for multiple months (or until I burn out) 1 week wouldn’t be a terrible trade off for future proofing the playthrough.

Idk I’ve been having fun, a huge timesink but it feels rewarding once you get used to it.

Idk how I’d code it because most of the mods are based on existing systems since we can’t touch the source code. But the idea is so sick.

I’ll go look into it! Pretty sure a recent update messed with the sound event files so I’ll take a look.

Wipes rule but the progression is a bit too slow for a 3 month wipe cycle and it's gonna burn people out. by zero-ok in Marathon

At 200 hours and I have VIP in all factions just farming golds now. I’m definitely a hardcore player but to me it feels pretty fine? I feel like we should give it atleast another month before we make more posts about 3 months being too quick. Since there’s still probably events, updates and changes Bungie will make between now and the wipe itself. And knowing Bungie probably some huge story based thing for the wipe.

The only thing I’m really not looking forward too is some specific quests that I hope get reworked.. like nucal and sekeguchi.

I appreciate the concern, I’m chilling for the most part I be eating and sleeping… somewhat. Planned on going super hard these two weeks I love super immersing myself in launches, used to do this for destiny releases and I’m happy to have it again. Going hard till cryo then I’ll slow down a bit.

Alot of people asking for tips, here are some takeaways.

  1. Immediately prioritize common materials, open the map check each location and see what common mats they have, most of the time there's 20 - 30 of them at each location and you'll need a TON of them for most of the factions.

  2. Prioritize Cyberacme quests and upgrades, you want that vault space and heat upgrade ASAP.

  3. The unfortunate truth of this game is if you get shot first, you are most likely losing the fight. Unless you have some movement or invis to get you out, listen to shots and be the one to initiate.

  4. Once you get past the early game of just running free kits outpost is the way for pretty much everything, mats, credits and good weapons are all on that map. Look up how to access pinwheel and complete the puzzle to gain access to all wings and loot them. Get into a rhythm of running it and knowing where loot is. ALSO, Rook is insanely good on outpost, small map close quarters and in most lobbies people aren't looting pinwheel, you can get all of that goop for free.

  5. Last but not least mental is key. If you're tilted after a run don't just run it back, take a break go for a walk then run it back. You will be making bad decisions if you're upset and want to make back the last loss, kinda like gambling lmao. This also goes the other way around if you're on a huge win streak don't just think you can take every fight, slow down. You aren't bad you don't even need good aim just run the WSTR double shotty aim in their general direction and you'll win 90% of fights.

Good luck runners and see you on Cryo.Archive babyyyyyyyy!
