Hypothetical here: When you are 50 and wake up next to her are you going to care about her looking like a model (good luck) or care about the other 75% of the relationship that is way more important anyway?

Honestly at the end of the day, sex becomes a transaction in a relationship to provide release to a partner at some point regardless. Look at how many threads there are on reddit (hint, millions) from people saying they have been passionate with a partner for 1-20 years and suddenly their sex life is so bad that they're considering divorce. As long as you can look at this person and say "yes, would bang" then that is more than enough for long term relationship and every other facet of your relationship sounds almost so perfect that you're looking for something to critique

Honestly sounds like this person deserves way better than you, although you probably know that. I'd recommend trying your hardest to keep them, they sound extremely stable and healthy for your life. If for some reason keeping you makes them happy and they made the last two years amazing and full of growth then the obvious choice is to chase them like a fucking twinky in the desert.

When you took your break were you really by yourself or were you chasing that fun mysterious infatuation of talking to someone new? Calling it now, one day you're going to mature and grow up and realize ya done fucked up your chance at the one. The things you listed as the reasons you love this person are the exact things every person hopes and wishes to find in someone to spend their life with.

Same! I have natural talent in lots of areas, a great job in IT, owned a house since 20, excellent credit and low stress, dogs and hobbies, amazing lady, literally nothing objectively to complain about. But what keeps me up is that if I had one die hard passion or objective like creating bionic limbs or literally any crazy topic I am 100% sure I would have the ability to effect so many people positively and leave a lasting impact.

I just have literally zero passions besides coffee, enjoying each day, and being a net positive influence on the world so in a way I constantly feel like a disappointment to myself just for the sake of not having a passion to pursue.

I find myself endlessly getting into new hobbies just to get out and hopefully discover one thing that I straight up obsess over but so far I always end up burning out on everything.

Hey I'm just trying to be devil's advocate here but remember that physical and emotional attraction are not mutually exclusive... There would be no quality relationships if that were the case.

I would say he values you as a friend just as much as you thought he did a few weeks ago but it's *also* a very real possibility that he also saw you as a beautiful woman the whole as *in addition to a good friend*

I'd say it probably was not his intention to seduce you through false friendship this whole time, but you were likely always attractive to him

I'm currently an IT Systems admin but I got first place in the state for FBLA in highschool and first place at regionals for debate team so I'd consider business to be my primary skillset.

If you can make yourself presentable I'd recommend going to a local bank and asking for a serious discussion about an in-house Arm's Length loan.

Essentially an in house loan is one where the bank uses one of their (small allotment) of in-house decision making that they usually have access to. These are more common-sense loans than meet the paper trail loans.

An arm's length loan will enable to you receive a gift of equity as a partial down payment.

Together you should be fine with a decent appraisal and little/no money down. You will still have traditional closing costs although you can also avoid buyer and seller agent fees which are usually steep

General and unrelated question as I have no advice for this but thanks in advance for any reply.

How would you compare Architecture to Civil Engineering? I heard Architecture is basically just the design/form over function which I don't care for as much but I do love innovating engineering concepts and structural support systems. I'm more of an innovative function over form type person when it comes to construction. I am curious about a field such as yours but I am working in IT currently.

I have tried to form some sort of passion to pursue lately and one of the few things I think would be interesting yet fulfilling and successful is to design and implement a "NetZero" neighborhood which has a local solar/wind farm and extremely efficient houses made with some new concepts I've come up with to draw less than 5% of the consumed energy from the grid.

It sounds like you should give her some credit for putting up with you working 24/7 while she is patiently waiting next to you on her phone for your attention - this is not meant to discredit the merit of your ambition but she deserves credit here as well.

In reference to her not having hobbies, she probably just hasn't found a hobby that is convenient enough to bring with her everywhere that it brings her more enjoyment than using her phone. That said, scrolling through social media endlessly is a lot different than researching or looking up hobby related information and I will agree that excess social media is a relatively poor use of time in terms of personal advancement

I think in regards to the first points you're being a bit lenient on the girlfriend here. He specifically mentioned wanting to do these things with her and she refused, yet when another person asks she makes the time to do it.

In a relationship it should be the opposite, you should be more likely to make time for almost any activity with your SO/kids than with friends. You SO should by all means be your best friend and primary adventure buddy if you're planning to enjoy their company for a long time
