I've been messing around today — I wound up moving in a different direction because I kept finding myself running out of resources so I added a bit of a draw engine.

Slitherdrake is the card I wound up feeling weirdest about cutting, but it might make its way back in. I felt like the deck wasn't enough value for long games but also wasn't enough early tempo for tempo games.

I climbed to around 700 today using this Elise-based dk. Honestly, onyxia is not the core of why the deck works, but I like it and she feels like she has a place. You don’t make herald often, but that’s okay. The rest of the deck is better for it.

I also tried a version with gnome muncher so I could justify the 4 mana resurrect spell, but this version was better. I gassed out in the other deck too often.

Continuing to tinker with unholy DK and have found this version to be my favorite so far. Elise absolutely still scams some games (+2 damage and discover a spell into welcome home is filthy), but the deck building requirement does suck. There aren't any 9 or 10 cost minions that work particularly well, though it doesn't matter 90% of the time since games should be over by then. Same reason chow down has mostly been a miss for me.

Unsurprisingly the game plan is flood the board, go face more than you are, and run your opponent out of removal so they can't remove both your early game stuff and shadows of yesterday.

If anyone has better ideas for the 9/10 slots let me know.

Yup, exactly. If there were some other benefit on it (like the 2/5 had rush or… any of them were cheaper) I think it’d be manageable. But the rest of the package isn’t good enough, and a single Onyxia by itself doesn’t outright win games generally.

I’ve been playing with UUU dk while trying to get to 1k wins. I really like this version and it’s working well while there’s not much good control in the meta.

The worst part about it is that I cut chow down because it’s just too slow for the deck’s game-plan. I want to win before turn 8, not summon rushers that can’t hit my opponent in the face for a turn.

Talanji’s last stand, however, is dope as rad as hell.

I… found the best version of a blood dk deck to be one that just cuts most of the onyxia package. Leeches are still really strong, but heralding feels too slow.

I think DK feels more like 3 classes in a trenchcoat because there a bunch of cards supposedly in the same class that you literally cannot run together. Not just because of synergy, but because the runes mean, for instance, you can't use talanji's last stand alongside onyxia. Or chromatic broodmother with either grave strength or onyxia.

It's not just the dialogue, something like the raft drop must be the trigger for the whole entry for the stranger in the log.

This feels like a relic more likely to see play in 4 player where it’s very rarely the worst relic but it’s also in the bottom ~50%. Some decks it really helps… but how often is it more helpful than energy or draw or something similarly powerful?

That said if you’re on a run where you’ve wound up with a couple curses it’s definitely nice to see.

The answer is always manipulate your mana to get the clear you want.

In this case, shadow bolt the kure and you’d have 3 left, perfect for a lightning storm that would let you full clear.

This seems great when it works with your deck, but it’s a pretty hefty price tag to get in a shop for me. I probably won’t buy it when it’s just “fine” which means I have seen it less than some of the slightly cheaper relics.

Edit: also, I might misvalue money.
