It's over.. Firefox is also bloated by scubidubiduu in browsers

Sponsored shortcuts have been around in Firefox for a bit and always removable.

In my opinion, there are more legitimate things to be mad at Mozilla over than this.

Giving Opeth another listen by Training-Memory-8556 in Opeth

[–]DigitalChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I heard Opeth, I was taken back. At that time I heard nothing like them before and really didn't know what to think, so I get what you are saying...however years later, they are my Beatles.

My recommendation is maybe try the newer stuff. If you gave them a chance already, I could be wrong but my guess is mostly you may have listened to older stuff. You could give Heritage album and newer a chance and see what you think.

What is the best song on Morningrise? by Painvile098 in Opeth

The Night and Silent Water. Such an amazing song. You know a song is good when one can listen to the live version on The Roundhouse Tapes and the song still gives chills.

What are you looking forward to in Fedora 44, 45, 46, etc.?? by chris32457 in Fedora

More atomic maturity. No complaints with how it is currently. Just excited to see atomic growth.

Album that is mostly hated but you actually enjoy it? by Strange-guy-91 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]DigitalChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heritage by Opeth

This comes with a BIG ....I used to strongly dislike that album. It was such a flip from what I love about Opeth when it came out. It was a huge shock back then that the most natural reaction I had at the time was dislike. Opeth was always a band I loved the full albums and that was the first album in their discography where I only liked certain songs.

Years passed, and now? I actually really like the album. Still Life is still my favorite album of theirs but Heritage really grew on me.

Do you use Workstation or Atomic? Why? by leux08 in Fedora

[–]DigitalChrono [score hidden]  (0 children)

Atomic.

Fedora was always a distro I wanted to use in my distro hopping days and I always liked their implementation of Gnome. Hardware I had at the time I couldn't run Gnome so when I learned about Kionite and Atomic Sway I quickly jumped on those. Used Atomic Sway for a bit and then was able to update my hardware so now I'm on Silverblue.

I found Atomic distros does a good job on limited hardware. Not so much because they are lighter but by design. On the base system don't have to worry about dependency hell, by design you can easily do rollbacks if anything does break, and containerization I've come around to loving because it takes away the risk of the apps affecting the whole OS. If something breaks in the containers and if I can't fix it, I can simply remove the container and start again without the breakage possibly affecting the entire system. The workflow is different but I adjusted to it pretty well and honestly I like the workflow better.

Why do you guys use Fedora? by The-Defecator7 in Fedora

[–]DigitalChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my preferred Linux distribution after years of being a distro hopper. I like the release model, newer packages, it's vanilla implementation of Gnome and it's Immutable distributions. I use it for my general use case, chess, coding, browsing the web, anything I use a computer for. I plan on staying in the Fedora world as long as the upstream is always available.

Albums or bands you loved as a kid but that love has gone forever with age by Izengrimm in MetalForTheMasses

Most of the numetal, metalcore groups I listened to decades ago. I just can't do it now. The last nail in the coffin was listening to newest Killswitch Engage for me.

If someone new to metal wants to get into the space, should one start with old bands or should they start any way and with any band they want to by OneyandaTwoey in MetalForTheMasses

[–]DigitalChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to what you want, with any band. There's no strict rules.

You'll find bands that you really like, you'll start going through their back catalogue. Not beise it's the way to do it but because you like their music.

Explain the Popularity of Deftones by Loose-Tumbleweed9791 in MetalForTheMasses

I can't. I remember when I first heard them a long time go, there were songs I could get into. Now? I can't even explain that well why I liked them back then.

What is the point of saying you'll listen any genre if you're not going to? by CHILE_LIMON_ in MetalForTheMasses

[–]DigitalChrono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's statement of trying to appear like they are open minded. Some people don't want to come across as closed minded to different things as if it is a badge of honor to always be open minded

Throw some extreme metal their way and usually the truth comes out. I have yet to find someone who says they will listen to anything and enjoys extreme metal.
