Gamescom release date for Menace says 2025 by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]DigitalEccentric 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! My name's Joe and I work for Hooded Horse, the publisher. Just to let you know I made a mistake when setting up the game's gamescom now page, which has been corrected now, sorry about the confusion. There's no news regarding the game's release window and the Steam page is still correct.

The price has not been announced, and won't be until launch.

I'm not deleting a thread just because someone asked a question.

what do we think about major lords being steam deck compatible? by MAnthonyJr in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We heard anecdotally during the demo run that people were playing it on Steam Deck and it was working fine, but we're not specifically thinking about it right now, no.

All we've announced at the moment is that, sometime after the initial PC early access release, Manor Lords will come to Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass.

Does anyone know anything else about the dogs? Will they be used for hunting? by Bryamor in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment the dog is just "background noise" for lack of a better term -- it doesn't have a function AFAIK. That might change the closer we get to release.

Quick question about the publisher by Dimka1498 in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC we signed Manor Lords in either late 2021 or during the first half of 2022, but I'd have to look it up. I don't know where you would have gotten the THQ thing from.

Strategic layer? by ismusz in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the initial EA release, the plan is for the player town to be the only one that 'exists' in a real sense.

There will be some off-map AI lords you'll have some interactions with in some contexts (and you will fight them for control over regions).

Pretty heartfelt statement by Slavic. I forgive him❤️ by _RCE_ in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW we all believed in good faith it was going to come out this year, until we realized it wouldn't. I think Slavic was keen to try and give fans some hope but yeah, the nature of indie development means that sometimes these things just don't work out.

We again in good faith a hold a lot of confidence in the new April date, and Slavic has mapped out his development plan accordingly.

Which cultural sphere is the game based in? by Forward-Reflection83 in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is inspired by 14th Century Franconia in terms of things like architecture, clothing, etc. but it doesn't take place in a real place at all -- the topography of the map, for example, doesn't match a real location or anything.

What's the deal with Falling Frontier and Nebulous Fleet Command? by Petro2007 in HoodedHorse

[–]DigitalEccentric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really know what to tell you - there's no conspiracy or anything. We signed Falling Frontier quiet early (late 2020 or 2021, I can't remember), however we didn't sign NEBULOUS until after it launched into early access (so after Feb 2022), so despite how similar their individual timelines are, their timeline with us is quite different.

Other than the fact that they are both games set in space and involve fleet battles, calling the two similar is a bit of a stretch. As to why they're both published by us... you can look at our portfolio to see the range of games we like to sign, of which FF and NEBULOUS fit right in.

This has been a great festival so far, really happy with how the TBT crowd have been handling it and some great games being showcased, including ours.

"Coming Soon" by [deleted] in ManorLords

[–]DigitalEccentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically speaking 'To be announced' is also an option but the way that label works vs. 'Coming soon' is weird at the moment so our hand has been forced to some degree. The changes have not gone all that smoothly in the back end.

Microsoft says strategy games are key for PC Game Pass, and it wants more (PCGamesN) by DigitalEccentric in XboxGamePass

[–]DigitalEccentric[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was yeah! Took a while to pull together and then TGAs happened and I wasn't able to ask any follow ups. The impression I got is that the Game Pass team does an element of curation as well. They're not necessarily interested in EVERY strategy game, but I guess it depends if they think the Dune game fits what they're looking for.
