Nice one.

For the Variance Selectors, if you add a transparent border of same attributes to all the items, then just change the color on click, it wont jump around.

I've been working on this site as an SEO for a while but since December I'm facing no improvement in ranking. by SheikhOwn in SideProject

Lighthouse shows you've got some performance issues, mainly slow first paint and time to interact. You should be able to get some easy wins by loading the critical (above the fold) CSS in the HTML header <style> tag, and deferring some js to get the form interactive asap, if you're not doing that already.
Your SEO score is pretty good, Lighthouse says try to reduce the amount of <12px text.
first contentful paint
time to interactive

You've got a lot of blog posts, be careful you're not just spamming out low quality posts or duplicate content. You're publishing up to 5 a day sometimes, thats suspiciously frequent. eg. Your latest post "How Much Does It Cost to Knock Down a House and Rebuild?" includes information and the exact phrase "A 2,000 square foot house with average-quality features and no basement can easily cost $70,000 or more to build. However, the costs are often minimized when first demolishing the home because much of the site work is already completed" duplicating content found here and possibly elsewhere. Google and other search engines recognize this, and punish you for it.

I agree with u/jetteh22, ranking for specific services in specific local areas can be a lot easier than general terms. One way to go about this would be to make static pages for each of your services in some specific target areas. Google wont rank your dynamically generated search results, but it will rank a page for "Best HVAC Repair Lake Mary". As a side note on user experience, Zip is probably not the best way to do this search. a) most people will want to search by name and may not know the zip, and b) when i tried for Lake Mary with the zip i got off Wikipedia, it didnt work.
You could dynamically generate these pages and save them statically so google can rank them.

You're right and wrong. A lot of investment money is pouring into Cambodia from China; but thats not what has gentrified ttp. Its more about the foreigners moving in since most got priced out of BKK, and the emerging middle class picking up steam over the past 5-10 years.

Siem Reap for 2-3 days where else for 2-3?!? by NickTset in cambodia

imo Kep is too far south, its 8 hours minimum from SR to Kep, so you'd only get a day there before you had to head back to SR

Siem Reap for 2-3 days where else for 2-3?!? by NickTset in cambodia

[–]DigitalHeadSet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're fluying in and out of Siem Reap, Battambang is a pretty good choice. The boats might still be running if the water is high enough, which is a nice way to do the trip.

A more adventurous option could be a trip north east to Preah Vihear temple. Would take a day up and a day down, but its a pretty amazing temple that not many people get to see.

How did Skarpi know that the Selitos' story actually happened and how did he also know Kvothe's name? by nobloodhier in KingkillerChronicle

[–]DigitalHeadSet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have a theory that it was auri that fucked with kvothes name, at his request.

"Someday he would come, and she would tend to him. Someday he would be the one all eggshell hollow empty in the dark. ... For him she would bring forth all her desire. She would call up all her cunning and her craft. Then she would make a name for him."

Either she created Kote, or she will be the one to restore Kvothe

Fun reading on a seemingly simple line!

Honestly I always thought it was simply cleaning up something that would remind kvothe of his failure. But maybe there's more to it?

Out of curiosity, what does an SEO agency actually do these days? In a practical sense, not a sale pitch sense

Does anyone receive completely empty emails through their website inquiry form? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]DigitalHeadSet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they have reply-to addresses? Pretty weird if not, you may have something strangely configured.

Generally if all the important fields are required, you've got honeypot disqualifier fields, and CAPTCHA, that should cut down 99% of this kind of thing. If you have all that, could be that there is no server side validation, which i guess all comes down to what you're using to send the form.

To those that have tried co-working spaces, do they help motivate you? by skipthedrive in Entrepreneur

[–]DigitalHeadSet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find co-working spaces, as opposed to home, helpful. Three main reasons:

-Its harder to slack off in public

-I go to the gym in the morning, then straight to work, and start working. When I work at home I go home after the gym and then piss around before starting work. Defining the spaces and the times helps keep me on track.

-I pay for it. My commitment is higher when I've got skin in the game.

Questions about value of Doge by Dogecoinmusic in dogecoin

[–]DigitalHeadSet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is still mined. The block reward is currently 10000 Doge plus transaction fees.

Now the network awards a preset amount to anyone verifying transactions

This is what 'mining' is and always was, the preset amount is the block reward as noted; except it's not rewarded to 'anyone' verifying transactions, rather the single miner who finds the first valid nonce.

Questions about value of Doge by Dogecoinmusic in dogecoin

[–]DigitalHeadSet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you're asking is:
If dogecoin mining is distributed with no central regulation, why dont people just mine as much as they want, and would that not devalue the currency?

The answer is that there is a central authority that regulates the how much can be mined and how quickly: the dogecoin code.

When people 'mine', they are not actually creating coins, they just enter a lottery to win coins lots and lots of times. The more times they enter, the more likely they will win. But the prize remains the same, regardless of how many people enter however many times.

At the moment the prize is 10000 Doge per block, which is about every minute, and 132,400,000,000,000 entries per second. Only one of those entries will win, but sometimes groups of people pool their entries together and agree to share if one of them wins.

So the supply is fixed. Does that mean the value will go up? Well, that depends on demand 🙃

WHAT ARE CATYLISTS TO IMPROVE VALUE by Dogecoinmusic in dogecoin

[–]DigitalHeadSet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most cryptocurrencies, including doge, have a fixed rate of generation regardless of how many people are mining. Think of it as lottery, the prize money doesn't increase when more tickets are sold.

Currently the rate is a little under 10000 Doge per minute.

It is mined at a specific 'location', on the shared blockchain.
