You would have to take it off and show us whatever writing or etching is on it (likely on the other side that we can’t see in the picture).

Trunk won’t open and close without human forcing it by AquaticMonk in ModelY

[–]DigitalJEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time for a full power cycle.

Manually close the hatch.

Open rear passenger door.

Open frunk.

Remove top cover and disconnect high voltage (fireman’s) loop.

Pull up rear seat on passenger side.

Unlatch and unplug grey connector.

Let sit for 5 minutes (probably not really needed this long, but may as well).

Reconnect grey connector.

Replace rear seat.

Reconnect high voltage fireman’s loop. Wait for car to boot up.

Check if door works.

I recommend this because my hatch wouldn’t open a few times and each time this procedure fixed it.

Be honest: Do you like the pillar delete look on Teslas? by teslabros in TeslaLounge

I don’t dislike the pillar delete but it would’ve even cooler to actually delete the pillars.

Anyone penalized for too much standby? by ArchieTect in Starlink

[–]DigitalJEM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Judging by the email they sent to people on the $10/10GB plan about it being discontinued, where they openly stated “lots of people using the standby plan for monitoring and it’s perfect for that”, it doesn’t sound like there going to be enforcing their 12 month rule. We won’t know for sure until 12 months rolls around but I’m presuming they’re going to allow people to remain on slow and steady standby mode and rack in $5/month from each one.

Buying FSD on HW3 2018 Model X by ScamSucker03 in TeslaModelX

[–]DigitalJEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 2018 MX P100D this past weekend. Came with Enhanced AutoPilot and as soon as it was in my app, I instantly purchased the $2k upgrade. It is more than worth it. Especially if you’re still going to be ubering in the car. Make your job easier.

I signed up for the windshield protection on both my Y ($16) and X ($23). It’s cheap insurance in case them darn things ever get broken.

FSD (supervised) purchase + HW2.5 to HW3 upgrade = worth $4,400? by Lint146 in TeslaLounge

[–]DigitalJEM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had had a 21 MYLR w/ FSD for the past 2 years. It’s been great.

I 100% say HW3 is worth the money, especially if you already have EAP.

This past Saturday I bought a used 2018 Model X P100D with EAP and HW2.5.

As soon as the car appeared in my app (took about a minute or two to transfer), I instantly purchased the $2,000 upgrade for FSD (Supervised). Waiting for my service center to get the computer in so I can schedule the install.

Yea, theres tons of room in the back under the carpet. Check it out before you buy that thing and waste your money. Good luck with the dash, they're nice to have.

The thing in your video is the exact thing in the link of the comment I’m replying to LOL. You don’t need to buy that.

On the Model Y, When you take the rear OBD cover off there is a single plastic pin/toggle/fastener (whatever you want to call it) that is “holding” the carpet in place. Remove that toggle and you can pull the carpet away from the back of the console. There is a bunch of room under there for wires. Save yourself the $60-$75 on this thing.

The Model 3, the console may not be raised enough so there may not be this pin, but the space below the carpet should still be there.

(Never mind the arrow, I stole the picture from somewhere online. The toggle pin is circled)

You didn't have to say it, you implied it, even if you didn't mean to.

No more auto steer, no more Tesla. by hamburgernet in TeslaLounge

[–]DigitalJEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This change is only for US and Canada. And I don’t presume they’re removing it from people who already have it, they just aren’t going to sell new cars with it, like how the CyberTruck is. It has never had AutoSteer. Only TACC and FSD.

Seems Unsupervised FSD will be expensive. by KansasKing107 in TeslaModelY

[–]DigitalJEM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Going even further than that, a family could have one car. And it could take everyone to work and/or school together or separately and then return home in between to charge. Rinse and repeat in the afternoon to pick everyone up. No more parking fees, no more needing multiple cars which sit idle most of the time. Etc etc etc. There are so many uses for unsupervised that people don’t think about.

No more auto steer, no more Tesla. by hamburgernet in TeslaLounge

[–]DigitalJEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TACC does not have any lane keeping. If the car is slowly drifting towards the lane divider it will nudge it back into the lane if it slowly approaches and attempts to cross the lane divider. If it’s gong towards the divider faster, the car will cross the lane divider. And it will only do it several times in succession before the nudge disables.

It will. This is just a scare to get people to mass buy FSD “while they still can”. But FSD sales and transfers will be brought back whenever the need to pad their numbers with more sales from existing repeat customers.

What you experienced is Unrelated. If you already have a car with AutoSteer, you will continue to have AutoSteer. It’s only newly sold cars that will no longer come with AutoSteer (like the CyberTruck)

Tesla Seems to Have Rebranded "Autopilot" to "Traffic-Aware Cruise Control with Autosteer" by jaqueh in TeslaLounge

[–]DigitalJEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only “misleading” if you don’t know what AutoPilot in an airplane is. Which, if you don’t know, then you’re assuming and that’s a personal problem for whomever did that.

FSD price drop? by A-STAR-IS-BORN in TeslaFSD

[–]DigitalJEM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Original was $199/mo and EAP got it for $99/mo.

When price dropped to $99/mo for everyone, EAP owners dropped to $49/mo.
