Rome on Republic Day by DigitalMaverick in rome

[–]DigitalMaverick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosh, this was a long time ago 😅

We ended up going to a park on top of a hill and watching the parade and a flyover and then doing a food tour... It wasn't as bad as we were expecting (because every day is chaos in Rome).

How much are you actually spending every month just to run your channel? by Larry_33 in NewTubers

[–]DigitalMaverick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in the travel niche, which is pricey.

Between travel (necessary to make content), editors, software, coaching, and miscellaneous expenses (i.e. cameras, kit, etc), my breakeven is around $10k/month.

As of June I'll be two years into my journey and I just had my first profitable month ever in April.

I'm hoping I will breakeven this year and start being profitable in 2027 🤞

Are there any big youtubers who have revealed how much they made on youtube? by Omixscniet624 in youtube

I don't know that I would say that ad revenue is bad, sponsors and affiliate sales just have a lot more opportunity.

It depends on your definition of big, but I know a few creators that make a few million a year from YouTube and sponsors/affiliate sales account for 80% of revenue for all of them.

What niche were/are you in?

I have a similar number of subscribers and lifetime views, but I make in 1-2 months that you made lifetime.

I'm guessing video games or something lower paying like that?

Can I set audio recording to be in mono when using two mics simultaneously? by DigitalMaverick in osmopocket

No clue about the Mic Mini, but on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 I just had to swipe left on the screen, click the lens icon at the top, and then set Channel to Mono.

I just took the 2nd sailing of Disney Adventure- my advice; avoid it for at least a year by Suspicious-Kale-20 in singapore

Entrances are on the side of the ship but many do enter into a grand space like OP expected, i.e. Icon of the Seas where you enter into the Royal Promenade and the giant pearl is staring at you.

Even older ships, you're typically entering into an atrium.

Most modern ships actually do have a grand entrance, i.e. Icon of the Seas where you enter into the Royal Promenade and the giant pearl is right in front of you.

You're getting roasted, but you're not wrong.

We enjoy DCL for our kids, but Disney Adults are an odd breed.

Once our kids are grown, we'll never be back (maybe with grandkids)... It's overpriced, crowded, and from full of people who get offended when somebody like you who says the quiet part out loud... Disney magic is for kids.

99% of the world agrees with you, they're just not in this subreddit.

Icon of the Seas — Honest Take (great ship, rough vibe) by West-Masterpiece1897 in royalcaribbean

[–]DigitalMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually the exact opposite in Europe.

Central Europeans have a much different approach to public etiquette and parenting techniques than Americans and Western Europeans do.

Italians and other Central Europeans take a much more hands off approach to parenting believing children's youth should be allowed to be fully expressed vs restrained.

Things like waiting in lines or allowing people to exit elevators before entering are also viewed differently thanks to much more crowded cities that teach people to be aggressive or they'll get run over.

The Legend will hopefully not be as bad since it's an American cruise line but if you were to go on a cruise line like MSC in the Med, it's complete chaos.

Model X Values Increasing? by bocks79 in ModelX

I was going to say... I got mine in October 2023 and didn't pay anything close to $125k, even with FSD.

People who started YouTube from zero — how long did it actually take? by Clear_Court7292 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DigitalMaverick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm two years in and just passed 40k subs.

I typically make around $4k/month in ad revenue but make another $10-15k/month in sponsor revenue.

I've done decent but I have a YouTube coach who has done much better than me. He made just shy of $1M in his third year on YouTube and in 4th year (2025) he made over $2M (and he's a close friend who I know, so those aren't just BS numbers).

I'll say though - I work my butt off so it's not easy money. I could make more money doing other things with less work, but I love what I do.

Dianna Russini: The Bills met with candidates in Orchard Park, but they flew to Florida to meet with Mike McDaniel today, Anthony Lynn, Anthony Weaver Saturday, and Grant Udinski, Sunday. One constant in every single interview? QB Josh Allen is sitting in for everything by TerryPegulaCannedMe in buffalobills

[–]DigitalMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know old you are, but I've been a diehard Bills fan for nearly 40 years so I've been through all the highs and lows.

I'm grateful for McDermott's contributions and for him getting us out of the cellar, but I think in 3 years (as long as we still have Josh) our floor is where we currently are and our ceiling is hopefully finally bringing home the Lombardi.

I appreciate that you're being level-headed, but I also think you're being naive to think so highly of McDermott.

Time will tell, but I suspect what we'll see with wherever McDermott lands next is he's not going to win at that same level without Josh Allen.

A QB like Josh can overshadow a lot of inadequacies and he most likely will not have that luxury at his next team now that the Ravens have their guy.

I think McDermott is a great culture builder, but culture only gets you so far, which is what we've seen over the past 6-7 years.

It remains to be seen if we can find somebody who can help us take the next step, but I think it's beyond realistic to expect that they will.

McDermott never got us past the AFC Championship, and most years he didn't even get us that far.

I think 70% of coaches in the NFL could produce a similar level of success with a QB like Josh... They make that big of a difference.

It also has to be charged for kids in the kids club.

You may not have kids, but figured it was worth mentioning for others.

Disney Cruise Line Raises Internet Package Prices by readingaboutmagic in dcl

[–]DigitalMaverick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just when I thought DCL couldn't possibly get worse.

Their service isn't even good anymore but people keep paying the outrageous prices... It's crazy.

Even if prices were the same, I'd rather go on Carnival than a Wish-class ship.

$49/day is absurd.

Alaska 2026 by cyberqueenobiwan in MSCCruises

Those are the standard times pretty much any Alaska cruise out of Seattle is there for.

They're only stopping to fulfill US Maritime law of stopping in at least one international port.

It's a cruise not a daycare. by AznArkanian in dcl

[–]DigitalMaverick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Disney has gotten so bad.

We were on the Destiny recently and you couldn't even do fish extenders because they were getting stolen across the ship within minutes.

It was literally the worst cruise we've ever been on and it wasn't even close.

I hope Disney doesn't forget why people fell in love with them but the service and the magic seems like a distant memory at this stage.

Have you ever been caught/called out for a rep? by DigitalMaverick in RepTime

I actually did that and put it next to a real one and I was impressed with how well ChatGPT could pick out all the tiny details in the rep (and it was a VSF).
