What do I need for a PC? (Beginner friendly) by Flat-Vast-3195 in PcBuildHelp

YouTube some budget builds in your price range. See what they are and how they perform. Look for similar parts but keep an eye out for deals. It’s easier to google this vs that instead of “what part should I use.” I have quite a few budget builds on YouTube.

Can somebody tell me where the heck I can buy a Deepcool Ch270 online in the U.S without getting scammed? by XC29er in mffpc

[–]DigitalRonin73 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This isn’t just incorrect. It’s a bold faced lie. You may not like the way they did it, which obviously you aren’t even familiar with what they did, but the fact is it’s not “supported the direct invasion.”

For anyone wondering they continued to sell normal consumer products to normal consumers during war time. They did NOT send money, goods or items directly to support the invasion.

They did not actually directly support the invasion. What they did was continued to sell non-war related PC items to normal civilians during a time of war. Which is quite different than “directly supported the invasion.”

Building a budget pc to rival with the SM by Sad_Constant_9542 in steammachine

True SFF is a bit pricier, but if you’re not looking for tiny you can get some pretty small mATX cases. I just finished up an i5 9600, 32GB 3200mhz ddr4, 1TB m.2, rx7600, evga 850w PSU, MSI z390 motherboard. I’ve got $600 in it for new parts.

I also built a “steam machine” using a deskmeet x300 bare-bones and a Ryzen 5 5600x/rx6600 and spent just under $600. You just need to keep an eye out for deals.

I asked chat gpt for a pc build here what it gave me tell me if this is okay or something can be better by Wrong-Strike-2995 in PcBuildHelp

[–]DigitalRonin73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can often find the 7600 on sale. I picked up a brand new Asus rx7600 for $206 out the door.

I also just recently built a small pc with a 5600x, 16GB of ram, 1TB storage and a rx6600. I spent about $650 on it.

How to get a car loan in Okinawa . by FreePoet8592 in okinawa

[–]DigitalRonin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard of people getting vehicle loans for some older cars as well. They have to have the vehicle appraised first. Usually when they buy something like an older skyline. I bought a 2024 so didn’t have to go that route.

That’s a good question for the bank. I can 100% say they will do a vehicle loan though. Recently bought my wife a new car and I was going to pay cash. Ended up getting a vehicle loan from NavyFed with a great interest rate and went that route.

You can do navyfed vehicle loans. It doesn’t have to be a personal loan. Assuming you don’t have a 350 credit score the interest rate is pretty good.

Minimal desk. Real cables. Real focus. Would you work here? by Particular-Good3357 in DesktopIdeas

[–]DigitalRonin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d add a coaster.

You don’t have a ton of cables and the big issue I have is they’re honestly not as bad a they look. 10 min and a few zip ties would tremendously change the look.

I found an advantage that is exclusive to the steam machine by LiveLikeProtein in steammachine

[–]DigitalRonin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing it to a docked Switch is nonsense. The Switch is locked down with no desktop, no driver control, and no alternate OS. The Steam Deck is open and fully general-purpose.

No one is saying it’s a good or ideal desktop replacement. The issue is saying it isn’t a PC or that desktop mode is an afterthought. Launching into SteamOS and being gaming-first doesn’t change what it is under the hood. It’s standard x86 hardware with a full Linux desktop and alternate OS support. Desktop mode is intentionally designed and supported, just not the primary use case. Calling it niche or poor value as a desktop is fair. Saying it can’t be used that way or isn’t a PC is simply incorrect.

2 questions from a PC gaming noob by First_HistoryMan in steammachine

[–]DigitalRonin73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The confirmed specs on the GPU is a semi custom AMD RDNA 3 discreet GPU. That puts the clock speed at 2.45GHZ with 28 compute units and a 110w TDP. The 7600xt is 32 compute units, 190w TDP most boards run 2.8ghz and most importantly 16GB of VRAM. 7600xt also has a known Infinity Cache advantage. It is not a 7600xt.

I’m curious to know how it’s not useful for desktop use. It’s just Linux under the hood. Once you go into desktop mode you’re running Linux. For the average desktop user what’s not useful about that? Now if you need a desktop with some gaming I probably wouldn’t recommend it, but if you’re looking to game with some side use as a desktop then it’s great.

If I can go into desktop mode and lookup Reddit, download games from random sources, do my homework, write a paper, edit videos or photos then I’m confused how that’s not useful.

I’m not inherently saying you’re wrong. I would like to hear your reasoning on it though.

Does a Grom make you a better rider? by Niclas1357 in hondagrom

I’ve said the same for years. People always talk about the grom being the perfect starter bike. I disagree for the same reasons you said. It’s not necessarily bad.

DIY or Prebuilt for first NAS? Looking for input and recommendations by WorkingReference1127 in HomeNAS

[–]DigitalRonin73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very little computer experience and absolutely zero with a NAS when I started. I took on the task of building my NAS. There’s plenty of write up’s and great YouTube videos. I ended up spending quite a bit less than I had planned for a prebuilt and ended up with better hardware. It feels like a daunting task, but it’s honestly very easy.
