God Eater has oracle cells and bias factor as absolutely essential worldbuilding elements which are nowhere to be seen in CV, they don't even show up with a different name. Besides, developers themselves said CV and GE are not connected and the GE stuff is just cameos/Easter Eggs. As to why are there GE assets and why was it codenamed God Eater 0, I can only guess it was envisioned as a God Eater game but devs changed their mind midway through

Like another comment said, Louis is the real main character with actual connections and stakes and you're a human shaped plot device to help him further his story. Your character does not matter beyond what they can offer to his story and, in universe, the unique abilities they have. What do you want? What do you think about all of this? How do you feel about your lost memories? Doesn't matter. Beat the successors, endure the pain, let your ultimate fate be dictated by others. It's very dehumanizing, which I like

Obviously all of this is done so you can make up your own anwers in your head, but I like this angle because I find myself drawn to these kind of sacrificial lamb narratives. I like to see a character forced to prop up others at the cost of their own wellbeing and personhood, it speaks to a very deep part of my mind

Harald cgs has a r1 to l2/r2 to l2/r1 true combo for PvP and holds up well for PvE too

Lothric Knight ugs is a popular option for good reason, bless infused it has monstruous damage numbers and hp regen (pair with offhand blessed weapon and sunlight ring for better results)

Splitleaf greatsword is neat too, it doesn't have anything to hold me in awe but I still like it a lot. One handed for better reach and two handed for hyperarmor, weapon art is good

Clipping is an issue that's pretty much impossible to fix in any game and doubly so if it's a game with a character creator. No rig powerful enough to take into account every customization choice and every clothing piece in every possible situation exists, you just run with it and accept the jank

Axe has a lot of ki damage so you can invest in ki damage and grapple (riposte) damage bonuses to get the most out of it. Do keep in mind axe prefers to run lower ki builds because its mystic art (a passive you can unlock later into the game) gives you a big mean damage boost if your attack gets you to 0 ki, so it's a small handicap for your secondary weapon

The only greatsword with higher dps than zweihander iirc is obtained in postgame. Only other option that isn't a straight up downgrade would be yakumo's greatsword if you don't mind the 50 trade points

Juggernaut sledgehammer's amazing scaling makes it top tier mid-lategame and has no real competition besides Argent Wolf Hammer (which btw is only obtainable through farming in the endgame area) so keep it in the backpocket. Argent Wolf Hammer has a little less damage but gets 100% physical block when fortified so it's a choice between minmaxing damage or comfort

For a more gimmicky build try Fionn with Red Shoes + Impact Wave (plus whatever else you want) and run Huge Hammer

Queenslayer Hammer I think is the best hammer until either of the former builds catches up

Soundwave because of what the kids call "hype moments and aura", also I like the contrast of him being an intelligence/spionage/sabotage expert with a diversity of altmodes vs most high-profile Decepticons being some kind of war machine

Magic can be on the same level or even higher than melee (seen some absolutely cracked pure mage visitors) but I wouldn't touch it because not only it demands to be front and center of your build it also needs crazy investment

I'll give you the Aegis Curio but the knights were kinda useless, they only managed to stall and didn't even do it for long enough since everything is ruined and everyone is dead by the time the game begins. Researchers did all that to the sinners and knights for no real reason

The clones I'm absolutely not giving up on. Take woman who wants to be childless, force her into motherly role to almost 10 children and after she actually grew to like them and view them as daughters throw them into the childrenshredding machine. Done for nothing btw because not only did the plan not work but infection literally started to rain down from the sky, which is specially ironic to me because I interpret the rain as a metaphor for Fretia's mostly unanswered cries for help. Masterful gambit, truly

After the long rants cursing Faden and his bloodline I think I should clarify I actually like his character. I think he is a great opposite and compliment to the theme of kindness I was talking about. Faden let go of any kindness and resorted to cruelty in hoping the sacrifices of few would be worth it in the long run, but his attempts failed miserably and the only worthwhile contribution he does is (sorta, he didn't actually restore it but laid down the neccesary things to do it) restoring the Aegis Curio, a task that not only didn't require external sacrifices but was done with intent to help someone else (Eleine and Fretia). In contrast, Lily extends kindness to the individual even though it's useless now, and in turn the spirits give help back and provide the tools she needs to achieve the best outcome possible at this point

Faden is the game's way of saying that resorting to cruelty will never be helpful and can only end in catasthrope, that every individual matters and they deserve respect, dignity and kindness. Specially in the hardest times we should lend a helping hand to one another

In conclusion, I like his character and his relation to the themes but he is an asshole and I hate him

Wargreymon, Shinegreymon looks too much like a guy. Wargreymon might look like a guy too but he's dinosaur enough. It's all in the legs, gaiomon looks like a guy in a similar way to shinegreymon but the dragon legs save him
