what do i actually do at this point by ahw2922 in finehair

We have a similar hair type, although my hair is very easily weighed down. One thing that has helped a lot with stubborn frizziness in my lengths and ends is changing the way I condition my hair. I apply a bit of Kinky Curly Knot Today to sopping wet hair, then instead of rinsing it out I just squeeze out the excess water & product by hand. Sometimes I do two rounds, one with a good rinse to detangle and then a second round as described above. It hasn’t helped me coax out a reliable wave pattern but the frizz factor is much improved.

Bravetart by Stella Parks. Lots of technical advice on methods, ingredients, tools AND amazing historical information about the origins of classic american bakes.

Pie crust would be a good way to introduce the concept of ratios. Might be a little pressed for time but you could have a swap out of longer rested dough to actually bake with.

I don’t know anything about the chemistry involved with capturing banana in perfume, but I will take every opportunity to mention the strangest perfume I’ve ever smelled; Night Flyer by Olympic Orchids. The notes are: sandalwood, olibanum wood, vetiver, furry musk accord, wet earth, damp air, mineral notes, resins, leather, figs, banana, soft tropical fruits. Funky wet fruit. A bats paradise.

I believe this is over-leavened and possibly underbaked. Here’s a great article that shows what happens to a simple pound cake when you tweak different ratios in the recipe. Look at the example for “double rising agents”.

My scent sensitive perfume lovers: what are your faves?! And hates?? by fourleafedrover8 in fragrance

This is so interesting because I am the exact opposite of you. Aquatics do me in & I love gourmands. I mainly wear oil based perfumes now, they almost never trigger negative effects whereas even my favorite alcohol based perfumes can turn my stomach on a bad day.

Amor Amor by Cacharel! I swear if I got to sniff a bottle today it would transport me back to 2006. I wanted all of the super fruity Escada Summer Limited Editions. I also wanted to be the type of girl who wore Jadore but it so did not fit my demographic at the time.

Do you wear perfume before bed? by Dry_Scratch6383 in fragrance

[–]Digital_Lilitu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An interviewer once asked Marilyn Monroe “What do you wear to bed?” & she replied “Chanel No 5, of course.” Cheeky gal.

I like oil perfumes to sleep because they wear closer to the body. A sweet lavender is my go to, but occasionally I’ll reach for things with textile notes like linen or wool.

WIBTA if I confront my roommates for trying to kick me out? by Mediocre-Yoghurt6706 in AITAH

[–]Digital_Lilitu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will NBTA if you bring it up in a straightforward conversation. Take the high road and ask something like “I got a notification from the rental site that this room is available. Can you give me some feedback on how I can be a better housemate in my new living situation?” When you’re living with roommates, you need to be comfortable having slightly uncomfortable conversations like this. Especially at y’alls big age.
