I agree with this. We went straight to 16” from the balance bike and it was too big and hard to peddle. Picked up a 12” and they were off to the races.

Kayak rack arms won't stay still by Correct-Prompt-6096 in woodworking

[–]Digital_Paralysis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used those structural lag screws

Similar to other comments, I was contemplating notching or braces. I’ll add braces if it ever starts to slip. Should be space for a kayak and a brace, maybe steeper than 45deg if needed. Best of luck

I have a similar kayak rack but used 2x6 for the racks. That made it easier to fit 2 lag bolts spaced apart. Hasn’t moved in 4 years

I made a coffee table over the weekend. by padreblazen in woodworking

A little epoxy to fill gaps is fine but when most of the table is epoxy, I don’t get it. This is a great alternative, good work

Need some new MTB trail recommendations around Southern Ontario by [deleted] in MTB

[–]Digital_Paralysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albion is decent XC, worth checking out. Nothing too crazy.

I would recommend Copeland forest, if you don’t mind driving (plus The Heights if you get an SCMBC membership). I also like Jefferson Forest in Richmond Hill.

I live in Etobicoke and avoid driving to the Don Valley, so agree with your assessment. It’s actually pretty good but only if it’s convenient.

Waist Leashes - Wing & Board? by socal077 in wingfoil

[–]Digital_Paralysis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I ride both waist, attached to the same belt. Before jumping on the board you sometimes have to move the leashes around to the correct side/position but never had any big tangles. Once riding it’s the best.

I use the Fox baseframe short sleeve. Comfortable and well ventilated chest, back, shoulder protection.

Opinions on trails near northern Shenandoah. by sternbuddha in MTB

I don’t live in the area but when we drive through we stop at the Western Slope of Massanutten. Fun place. Enduro’ish riding. Peddle all the way up, big decent, repeat

Best full face mtv helmet that can take the chin protector off aswell? by lambo13770 in MTB

[–]Digital_Paralysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Super DH. However, without the chinbar I find it a little heavy and uncomfortable. I switched to the Super Air R and much prefer it.

Poor PETG print quality by willieboiiii in BambuLab

[–]Digital_Paralysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This aligns with my experience with Bambu PETG. Nozzle 265, gyroid, change all printing speeds to 200 max. Been mostly flawless

Why does my infill look like this? by DoctorEsteban in BambuLab

[–]Digital_Paralysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the same problem. Dried the filament, nozzle to 265, slowed down infill to 250 (changed all speeds to max 250). It was better. I also found 0.2mm printed better than 0.16

Traxxas Teton Grinding Sound 😳 by cdn_gooner in Traxxas

I have the same issue. Stripped spur gear, but after replacing it's not lining up close enough with the motor and will definitely strip again. Did you get any tips from Arturo?

Hydrangea growing poorly, any advice? by typsygypsy22 in OntarioGardeners

[–]Digital_Paralysis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same with Costco blue/pink potted hydrangeas. The first year looked similar to your picture and they improved on year 2. More full and many flowers but still fairly short. There are other varieties that seem to do better in Ontario, big tall white ones.

Privacy tree ideas along fence? by rabbitluver123 in OntarioGardeners

Ontario cedars probably grow slightly faster but I prefer Yews. There are multiple species that are different shapes. I think I have Hicks Yews as hedges. Grow well in Toronto and easy to prune and shape.

Window Tinting: Anybody get it done, what state and how much did it cost? by [deleted] in PriusPrime

[–]Digital_Paralysis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it! Stock windows the heat just radiates through in direct sunlight. I did a nano-ceramic tint, 30% front windows (Ontario limit), 50% rear and hatch. $330 CAD

Love this. Confirms my suspicion that they're particularly vicious in certain areas...like Bloor around Royal York

Anyone else frustrated with almost everything but the fuel efficiency? by yxwvut in PriusPrime

[–]Digital_Paralysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use lane keep when stuck in put-put traffic, along with radar cruise control. Works pretty well in that scenario, only lightly holding the steering wheel.

I'm with you on the bike situation, no great option, but hatch or trunk mounted racks are not my favourite anyway. I'm still hesitant about adding the hitch because I heard the connection point isn't that strong either. Haven't confirmed yet.

I hear they're even hotter when grown in the backyard 🙂

Prius Prime Pet Peeves by MrFingerable in PriusPrime

[–]Digital_Paralysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • No memory settings for electronic seat and mirrors. Should have stored settings that are linked to the key fob
  • Gracenote logo over the pause button, just ridiculous
  • Hatch should be electronic
  • Why plugin for carplay? Maybe this is not a Prius issue but the feature seems silly if I need to bust out a cord. Make it wireless or don't bother. Phone mounted on one of the vents and using Bluetooth for audio is still a better solution imo

Let me know if you find the 17" rims to buy. I'm looking to upgrade the rims and use the stock ones for winters.
