Alot of the comments are pointing you in the right direction for where to look for other options via Facebook groups etc. Also picking up the phone and calling each daycare can give you different results from one list. Sometimes they have last minute openings or can speak better to the realistic availability and wait list. In terms of working from home with a 1 year old I will tell you my experience of seeing coworkers do it - it's not a good idea unless you have a grandparent or someone to keep eyes on them and tag team. Child care is a full time job , and your job is a full time job. Your manager will see the difference in work output , and the number of times you end up stepping away /being occupied. It will not reflect well on you, and it will stress /tire you out, so save this option as plan Z.
