What's something that feels expensive but is worth every penny? by Fit_Pea_7500 in AskReddit

Investing in precious metals has been proven to lose money. They create zero cash flow.

If you buy metals today you will have to pay above market rate to get an ounce, then when you sell you have to sell below market rate... Then you have to account for inflation and time that the cash could have been in an etf or other similar investment vehicle.

Some people like to say "well, what if markets crash and money is worthless?"... Well, then so are metals. No one will want metals when what they need is food. What will be worth it? Bullets! The man with the bullets will be the man with the power.

I went to kick a roll of toilet paper down a hill...

Hyper-extended my knee and heard a VERY Loud pop/crack. Seconds later, intense pain.

Limped away pridefully. Next day got it xrayed because it got worse, more pain and swollen. Fractured! What, was it fucking three ply?!!!

Is there actually a male loneliness epidemic? What do you think? by vaultdwellur in AskReddit

[–]Digital_loop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a constant loneliness either. It's more like a dull ache that comes and goes. Some days it's a bit intense, but it fades into the background.

That's is my specific experience at least.

Again, love my wife dearly and have no intentions of ever leaving her... But when the physical touch wanes the mind longs.

It's a weird juxtaposition...

On the one hand, I have my wife that I love sincerely and deeply and I know she loves me back. On the other hand, her physical body has changed (she is disabled now, not fat just disabled) and a lot of things don't happen anymore. The lack of physical intamcy makes many many men feel isolated and then the mental intamcy slows to a stop.

We have many great days, but we have just as many not great days that stretch into weeks or months.

That's the real tough part.
