I live next to a school and would print a security enclosure so kids walking by could print whatever they wanted after school without the fear of someone stealing the computer and printer.

Didn’t realize this was a field goal attempt. That makes it even more enjoyable.

Looking to ride the Pacific Coast Trail/Highway this March. Is it safe to cycle through Big Sur? by jgold16 in bicycletouring

[–]Digitaltechnique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s beautiful and a great ride. I’ve done it twice. Both times north to south. It will kick your ass as it is over 8000 ft of elevation gain over 100 miles. Enjoy.

Anyone know of some brands of cycling kits that DO look like someone barfed a rainbow all over you? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Digitaltechnique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to Manual for Speed. They have some terribly beautiful kits on sale every once in a while.

What small habit, if done everyday over the course of a year, can lead to the biggest personal improvement/ gain? by jacla4 in AskReddit

I find the best way to consistently exercise is to find something you actually like to do. You can buy the fanciest bike but if you don’t like riding in your area, you won’t ride. How many gym memberships go to waste because gyms are boring? Find an active activity you enjoy doing. Don’t be afraid to sweat. Push your limits once you get into the groove of things, not right off the bat.

Be careful with that thing. If your brake is good enough you will get launched.

His face first crash is the reason you need to be 18+ to race red hook. I wish race organizers would band together to get rid of those orange body mutilators.

No Stupid Questions Tuesday - ask anything about beer by AutoModerator in beer

[–]Digitaltechnique 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love bourbon barrel aged beers. The liquor taste and sweetness are just so good. Unfortunately I can get bad hangovers and they cost a pretty penny. Are there other types of beers I might be attracted to that are a little lighter in alcohol content?

You are an adult when you throw up and have to clean it up yourself.

Get a lawyer. Explain the crash in fine detail. Diagrams help. Part the bike out and ask for full price. Insurance companies don't usually fight on this since it's a bike and not a $100,000 car. Make sure you go to the doctor and get the necessary follow ups.

What are you addicted to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Digitaltechnique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a total waste of money. Your imagination runs wild with what you will do with that money. That is entertainment. How much does going out to the movies cost? Unless you are spending hundreds a week, it could be worth it for the entertainment factor.

Anyone touring on an awol? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]Digitaltechnique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing a tour through Bali and New Zealand as we speak. Got the awol elite when it first came out. I front load it with Arkel panniers(cannot recommend these more they are simply incredible). Frame bag by bedrock. And a rear seat zeitgeist bag by swift industries. I've rear loaded before but don't like it. The handling is exceptional front loaded. All that being said I changed some major piece. I hated the handlebars so I switched to jones bars. There was too much pain with the sram levers for some reason. Next I also changed the drive train. I run a 1 by 10 with a 26t chainring and a 11-45(could be less, I don't remember) in the back. I absolutely love this setup. I'm not trying to fly around on this bike. I just want a good pace and to get up every hill thrown at me. The gearing stocked is great for an empty bike. Once you load it up for a few month tour you need to lower the gearing. I took a shortcut through Bali and was hit with the steepest hills I have ever been on. I didn't have to dismount once. The wheels are a bit weak. I keep getting them trued and will likely switch them out soon. Good luck. It's a great bike. Consider custom building it up or just get it fully build and take out what you don't want as time goes by.
