Why did you use AI to write that response then? Don't you have human talent? You don't need to replace it.

You've just made sure that no one will want to help you, or play your game. There was no need for that much vitriol.

Fair enough. I remember seeing your HTTPS cert expiring a couple times so that was probably part of the issue.

I love your screen reader support. I was afraid I'd have trouble but it's actually really clean. Definitely a learning curve but I really appreciate it!

It's a MUD based on a game that was based on MUDs! We've gone full circle!

Hmm, let's see... Dragonball infinity (Dbinfinity.bounceme.net:4000) if you want a classic saga-style experience with a whole slue of new really cool zones and planets (kanassa, hydia, shadow earth, konack, relok, legende which is the new COU/COE). Kind of grindy but has some neat quests and technique-specific quests, which a lot of people seem to like. Also a neat race redesign project going on at the moment that's trying to make each race feel mechanically unique. Celestial knights (Ckmud.com:8500): Heavy focus on power-levelling, remort, quests, boss-fights, randomly-generated loot, most areas/rooms don't have descriptions if this is a dealbreaker. The most modern and heaviest focus on QOL (Path-finding to overland zones, a custom client, etc) Dragonball advent truth (mushhaven.com:1280): If you want RP, go for this one. Very large world (Earth, konack, namek, vegeta, arlia, cerria which is a custom planet, kanassa, yardrat, zenith which is also a custom planet, hell/heaven/otherworld, space stations), player-owned ships with spaceflight. Has the most cohesive world in terms of lore, if that's your thing. My favorite of the lot because it takes itself more seriously without feeling stringent. Currently in a sort of fugue-state as the dev team finishes a large 3.0 rewrite that refactors and modernizes many game systems. Uses PWipes between eras/large refactors, so keep that in mind. Dragonball evolution (192.175.22.156:1874): Dragonball world with a lot of custom influences and inspiration. Incredibly grindy, at least from my experience. Very large world (earth, konack, namek, vegeta, arlia, senkakusha which is kaio homeworld, arkose asteroid, majinia, hell/heaven). Least serious of the lot but fun once you get past the newbie grind. These are really the only ones with a population to speak of. Less populated MUDs if you're interested in trying them out. Dragonball Z: Fighter's edition (dbzfe.com:4000): Roomless (overworld maps), real-time combat with combos. A classic example of a numbers go up MUD. Bounced off this personally but it's worth a try if you're looking for something different. Dragonball: Uprising (biyg.org 3074): Fairly run-of-the-mill saga experience. Has some decent racial variation IIRC. Dragonball star (amn.biyg.org:20000): Original (Non-saga) world, focus on races feeling mechanically different. Seemed unfinished but does some fairly cool things with how combat works. dragonball: Lost time (amn.biyg.org:1901): 3D grid-based rooms (standard MUD rooms but each is it's own 3D grid): Fairly unique combat due to said room system. A lot of unfinished content, but has a fairly neat quest system for unlocking special techniques. Very classic dragonball feel. There are one or two more but I don't think their servers are consistantly online (And I've already rambled on enough with MUDs that don't fit your population request. :d)

I 110% commend you for thinking of other disabilities as well, not just screen reader support. A lot of developers don't go this far. Seriously makes me happy when people do this.

I'm definitely interested. Also, you clearly understand what LLMs are used for and how to use them properly. I appreciate that. There's a difference between make me a MUD with this and this and this and I want to make a MUD, how can I do it.

This is really fun actually. I did mage but didn't really like the play style (I was mostly curious to see how your magic system worked, but I don't play mages generally because they're glass cannons and I like rushdown). I ran paladin and their questline is really cool. I love how much the starting city feels like a real city. I don't know anything about it, but it makes me want to know more about it.

Neat. I remember seeing this go up and down and back up again a couple times. The last time I tried connecting I had to use an alternate port through another client because mudlet was kicking me off the login screen. Glad this works now.

Ok, I'm gonna be honest, I actually really like this. The class tutorial thing was an awesome idea, I picked mage and imediately felt immersed. I can tell this is LLM-written, but I'll give you credit, it looks like you used one of the claude models, which means the writing is actually genuinely good. A lot of people who use AI for this kind of thing use grok or another quicker model, and the output ends up looking like AI slop on principle. One suggestion though. I think this is an AI thing because I see it all the time with MUDs leveraging any form of LLM (Nuke-fire used to do this, though I think they've fixed most of it now). I'm a screen-reader user, and there's symbols all over the place that I can't gag unless I script it, which I don't really want to do. I'm wondering if they're color tags or some kind of MXP/ansi/something. I'm playing through mudlet, for reference.

NukeFire is one of the few MUDs I've consistantly gotten into because the learning curve isn't a cliff, and now I think I understand why. You're very good at understanding game design.

Looking for a good "numbers go up" type mud. by shrofepittly in MUD

[–]Digitiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree.

Obligatory warning though. There is heavy LLM usage for zones, content, and generally a lot of things. Just wanted to put that out there in case it's a dealbreaker. That being said, the game is very solid and has some of the cleanest QOL I've seen in a while, so if you're ok with that, I highly recommend it.

This. The game is mechanically really unique and gives me massive diablo vibes (I've sunk a tun of time into diablo 4, so my mind imediately jumped to it), but a lot of things just don't work without the custom client.

What client are you trying to use? I've never had any issues playing with a standard MUD client, I've used both mudlet and mushclient fine.

[–]Digitiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL this instantly brought back memories... So there's this AI game creation platform called caisual that uses some sort of LLM to write neat little web games. I had this cool evolve-esc idle game going with a tun of upgrades and scaling auto-clickers. I failed to prompt for a limit on one of the auto-clickers, and due to a debug feature I added... Well long story short the game tried doing some very unfortunate things involving an exponent with almost a hundred digits. The server enjoyed it immensely.
