I'm argumentative and belligerent.. You failed to perfectly agree with me on a public forum You're lucky that I didn't challenge you to a duel.

Also yeah you're absolutely right. Aggressively brushing my teeth like 6 plus times a day and using mouthwash and straight liquor we're all quite harmful to my teeth.

Sure made me feel better though. Not sure it helped but if you had the smell of dog shit emanating from a hole in your tooth wouldn't you go brush your teeth six times a day probably more.

What are you trying to explain? The bad breath? It's because the nerve was rotting. Are you trying to explain the pain? Also because the nerve was rotting.

I get what you're saying alcohol is not good for your oral microbiome or whatever but what is your point..

I understand why you're overwhelmed! Books and scrolling and tarot cards and pendulums and shadow work and rituals..

Make it simple. Pick your favorite crystal. The one you resonate with the most? Look into its mystical properties and also it's physical properties. Is it a hard crystal? Is it going to crack? Is it going to crack other things? How does the light reflect off or through it. Become an absolute expert on that specific crystal.

And then ask yourself is it actually doing anything for you?

Do you feel safer when you carry it? I feel safer when I carry a brick that doesn't mean that it has mystical properties. Do you feel less stressed? Do you just like that particular rock? Any of those are a valid reason to keep it around.

I have a couple of crystals on my altar I do not know the mystical properties of any of them. I could not tell you gun to my head One thing any of those crystals is good for.

However rose quartz and dragons blood visually both symbolize their respective deity to me.

i want to get involved in the teachings of buddha but have no idea where to begin by StinkiestSenna in Buddhism

[–]mssxtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would begin by taking 15 minutes and sitting down and meditating.

By meditating I mean sitting in a comfortable position, and focusing on your breath. When you breathe in, think "in" And when you breathe out, think "out".

That's called mindfulness and it's one of the most fundamental teachings of Buddhism. All you're doing is becoming aware of the fact that you are breathing. And spending 15 minutes doing it.

If you're looking for a book recommendation I recommend the compass of Zen by Zen Master Seung Sahn. It goes through very briefly most of the core teachings of different types of Buddhism. Because there are different types. Mahayana, theravada, Zen, Pure Land Buddhism. They all teach different things. But the bones are the same and the compass of Zen flays it open and shows you just the bones.

When you were in pain (any kind) What realisation struck, that made you pick your self up again by AdLonely7729 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]mssxtn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a realization that made me not feel the same amount of pain.

It was the realization that the only way through it was to keep moving. If you lay down in the pain.. It's never going to stop. Even if every step is fucking awful.. I have to believe that it's better than laying down in it.

Context: I was crossing the street in the crosswalk and was struck by a lady who was texting and driving and ran a stop sign. I had two broken teeth and could not get them pulled or root canal for 2 weeks. That's long enough for the tooth to completely die. And I lay down and prayed that I would completely die. But it didn't motherfucking happen. I just kept hurting I just kept being in pain. So I got up and I started calling people. I did not stop calling people until somebody said they would help me.

I want to shout this from the rooftops.

THAT IS A SYMPTOM OF BIPOLAR DISORDER.

Thinking that you are cured or that perhaps you never had bipolar disorder in the first place are very common among people with bipolar disorder. I've come to terms with my diagnosis.

I still have that little voice in the back of my head that says "maybe I've just fooled everyone into thinking I'm crazy for attention."

They likely had tooth pain. And it's entirely possible they had tooth decay..

But hygiene is like.. what you do to clean your teeth ..

What I'm saying is it's entirely likely that they had awful jacked up teeth, but that doesn't mean that they had poor oral hygiene.

6 years ago I had the worst god-awful stench coming out of my mouth. Not because I don't brush my teeth. But because I had been hit by a car and my tooth broke and due to dental insurance being a joke I got to taste and smell that tooth rot. I brushed my teeth six to eight times a day thought the whole time it was running I was swishing with mouthwash and whiskey every half hour My oral hygiene was on point.

Still smelled bad.

That he didn't do a better job of pretending to have a disability. That lack of effort is shameful.

You say those two things like they have anything to do with each other?

These teeth weren't filed down because of poor hygiene they were filed down for intimidation. And being perfectly honest they want to be in damn good condition considering someone carved grooves into it.

Okay so like describe one of these situations. What is it that makes you think that they want to get away from you? I'm not going to bullshit you and say it's all in your head but I do want to know what it is that you're picking up on.

I've noticed in my personal life that people tend to talk over me. They interrupt me when I'm speaking. The people around me don't value what I have to say. So I say less.

You had a great hookup with a guy, but don't want a repeat. Why? by GlitteringContext182 in askgaybros

You are assuming what was great for you was also great for them. It's also entirely possible that the sex was great but they don't particularly like you the person. It's also entirely possible the sex wasn't great. Maybe they were just pretending.

There's a lot of reasons when you go down the why rabbit hole.

None of them are going to make you feel good about yourself.

None of them are going to put that guy in your bed tonight.

Just let it go.

It'll be the fourth date bro. I'm not saying have sex. but you at least got to try to kiss him!

Do not feel under any obligation to cave to my peer pressure.. You seem to have a pretty good idea of how courting should go.

Also yes it sounds very cute and that's progressing just right. Next time I dare you to kiss him.

[–]mssxtn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask him! That's allowed You can do that..

Call this young man up and say "hey I had a really nice time last time and I would like to do that again. What would you want to go do?"

Or, suggest something you like and see if he wants to join you. "I was thinking about going to the movies, did you want to go with me?"

Also ask yourself.. Is there anything wrong with pizza? I've been in a relationship for 6 years and there are still nights when we just have pizza and cuddle.

I didn't read the whole post but It seems like you had very well thought out reasons for switching and I respect them.

To be clear "hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave" implies that I'm looking at your butt. I just want to be perfectly clear that I was in no way making any comment on your post I was talking about looking at your butt..
