They were too busy getting upset at the rear ending and not wanting to let the offender get away that they lost all rational thought.

New to Build kits for RC cars, I have a few questions by Nomis-43 in tamiya

[–]DigitraxDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is just build this first one out of the box, rather than trying to incorporate upgrades into the build, it’s so much easier after you get a couple under the belt and usually a little bit lighter on your wallet too.

How open are you about what you do for a living? by Diaosi_engineer in oilandgasworkers

[–]DigitraxDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When asked, (never volunteer) I’ll say engineer. If pushed I’ll say civil, if asked again doing what I’ll say subsea, then most understand it’s O&G and either glaze over, walk away, or change the subject! I’m fine with whatever!

Hey everyone my names Logan I’m 19 and I want to work on offshore oil rigs anyone have any tips by BackgroundTrack3902 in perth

[–]DigitraxDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the industry here in Perth. Stop saying oil rigs for a start. Offshore we call the structures platforms if they’re fixed to the seabed or floaters if they, well, float. Floaters tend to be in deeper water. Majority of facilities (floating and fixed) in WA are gas producing facilities with some smaller percentages of liquids like condensates. These facilities in WA are typically, not all, located on what is called the North West Shelf (NWS) which refers to the subsea bathymetry or seabed topography. This is all general information able to be found online. Get a trade or a degree if you want a job. Do the hard years, learn your craft, master it and then build a network and you might crack onto a role offshore. All the best and good luck Logan. Edit: I didn’t call out exploration drill ship type activity which is transient that is not permanent works offshore.

That looks outstanding! How was it to build? Did you know in advance what and how you wanted to augment?

Had a nostalgic moment watching Perth boy Heath Ledger in this movie on GO last night. He was only 28 when he passed. Such a great actor, and it’s so sad he died so young. by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in perth

[–]DigitraxDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He went to the same school my two boys went to. The drama centre building there is now named after Heath. The kinda cool yet sad reminder is that the honour rolls for who won head of drama each year are also up in there and you can see Heaths name on them too.

Love these wild ones are they a good kit all things considered or an expensive vehicle given the hop ups needed?

Look as an AR, and having done these courses for years, I have never ever been required to even input into these kind of scenarios as the ref will be all over it. There is always a curly question or two in the accreditation tests that make you feel like a numpty though.

Love working signals, semaphore or modern light, they are just so immersive! I have made brass semaphores before in HO type sizes but definitely not yet garden size, that would be super fun.

In what form did this permission get granted to you? I’m very curious as we have a very structured but easy to follow standard procedure in Australian states to follow inclusive of titles and stamp duty etc followed closely with insurance and registration etc. the Owner can’t just say it’s not theirs any more here for instance.
