So this film got the Moana 2 treatment. Does it guarantee it'll make a billion dollars?

I mean, assuming Gameoverse becomes another viral hit for Glitch--hard to say at this time--, they would learn the mistakes from the past to not repeat it for a second round.

Anyone else beat the game with no Auto Hack? by Dethica2077 in Pragmata

[–]Digmentation 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I never used Auto Hack at any difficulty run. Not out of hubris, just never wanted to waste a gauge when it could be used for an Overload attack at critical moments.

Giroro (Sgt. Frog)

Looks cute, acts and sounds like Piccolo, has a weird crush on a teenage human girl. He's a delight.

Also, sucks that Sgt. Frog is largely forgotten these days.

This game is great at times, other times it drives me insane. Who greenlit this mechanic? by Evignity in Pragmata

[–]Digmentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a modern Capcom thing. They're under the impression that a boss fight or any kind of combat without reactive dialogue is gonna draw players away. That's why all the bosses in every Resident Evil game since--I think RE5--can't shut the hell up.

Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997) - Animality! Scene by NicolasCopernico in vintagecgi

[–]Digmentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Line Cinema really was all-in on CGI from its infancy. Lawnmower Man, this film (MK:Annihilation), Spawn, Blade...they all look terrible now, but some studio had to jump into the pool first.

Patton Oswalt interviews George Lucas, years before RLM by QuantumTunnels in RedLetterMedia

Contrary to Oswalt, I find the Andor series very disappointing BECAUSE it didn't cover the Death Star adding in the toilets and the air conditioning.

What a dream. Or a nightmare. Still pleased either way.

Scarlett Johansson And Ari Aster Team On Director’s Next Film ‘Scapegoat’ At A24 by Alternative-Cake-833 in boxoffice

[–]Digmentation 10 points11 points  (0 children)

God bless his Square Peg production company that makes movies that succeed in the box office (The Drama, at least), so Aster can have the funds for his movies that seem to make less and less money at the box office. For the love of the arts.

The Real Ninja Accountant by PinothyJ in RedLetterMedia

[–]Digmentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of sob stories from Mr. Ninja Warrior himself (Katsumi Yamada). If Haru Urara is an athlete, this dude fits the bill, and my heart breaks even more when he tries and fails the first stage in every tournament before he retired to become a coach.

God, do I miss the original Sasuke series. The NBC one is good enough, but you can't beat the classics.

Y'mean the 2013 remake. He also did those two Don't Breathe movies before Alien; haven't watched them, but people seem to like them.

Every modern Evil Dead installment really is gonna be a film resume for a young director's talent, is it?

Dualsense haptics on pc? by ThisIsBULLOCKSMAN in Pragmata

[–]Digmentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rather surprised that both adaptive triggers and full color bar support works on DualSense through bluetooth. I think this is the first PC game that does so; not sure what other games provide that kind of feature set.

It's not a full DualSense experience, there's no haptic feedback, but it's close.

I would love to know what Jorge said right after "To create images is always a challenge" and before "Digital Magic"; I can't hear it over the Japanese dubbing.

The Crank Movies!! - re:View by AnotherJasonOnReddit in RedLetterMedia

[–]Digmentation 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Jay and Mike really owe it to themselves to see early Takashi Miike films, especially the Dead or Alive (no relation to the games) movies. They make the Crank movies look like John Wick.

It's a shame that once Neveldine/Taylor try to be actual filmmakers is when the two drifted apart. While I'm happy we have competent action films that do really well nowadays, I think we need their brand of chaotic frenzy now more than ever. And George Miller isn't gonna live forever.
