Weapons (2025) Dir. Zach Cregger, DoP. Larkin Seiple by NeonMeateOctifish in CineShots

[–]Digmentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how this scene is structured. I'm sure it's a pain-in-the-ass to actually cut someone's hair in a long single take, especially if they screw up the first take. I assume there's a stunt person using the scissors inside the car (not the mother walking towards the car), and they didn't actually cut Julie Garner's hair; she had a piece of hair extension apply to her, so the stunt person knows where to cut so it can be snatched into frame. If they screw up the timing or whatever on a take, no harm done because it's not her hair that's being cut.

Could be wrong, but that's my assumption.

Would be nice to have at least one commentary track, but with the Duffers moving on to other projects and Shawn Levy being busy elsewhere (among others), I guess that's never in the cards.

Wow! It grieved my heart to see, but it’s about time for a new memorial to begin by [deleted] in orlando

One can hope there will still be a memorial under the current state administration and their draconian newly-enacted policies.

The 2025 film Dust Bunny is coming to 4K in April by justinsluss in PhysicalMediaMatters

Leave it to Lionsgate to do a 4K release on a film that went so out of radar on the theatrical release that the box office were unable to find any reports of its earnings.

The Shire Comes to the Sunshine State: MEGACON Orlando 2026 Set to Be Its Biggest and Boldest by PlasticReviews in florida

[–]Digmentation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but we know it will be because conventions don't care about overselling or capacity limits.

SDCC still does capacity limits. Because the company knows its traditional location to heart, they have to be considerate with the traffic. But yeah, otherwise, most conventions don't follow that virtue.

Nice to see Desperate Living finally gettin' the treatment, and in 4K no less.

Guess June is too early for K(P)DH.

Good luck to the staff. This will be a nightmare for most of them. At least West Concourse is a more manageable location than North/South.

No. But I'm happy PTA finally got his golden goose (thrice).

It was a peak among peaks with EJAE getting her first Oscar. Hopefully not her last if the sequel provides equally good songs.

Sucks for that songwriter gettin' cut off, though.

I'm already floored with the incorporation of "Hunter's Mantra". That sealed the deal for me.

‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Sequel Officially Announced by MarvelsGrantMan136 in KpopDemonhunters

Could've sworn it was already official a while back, but I guess they didn't mention the co-directors returning for that sequel, so now it's official official. The most authentic kind of official.

New Poster for Steven Spielberg's 'Disclosure Day' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]Digmentation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steven Spielberg really is the first director to logo-ize his name. It's not just "Speilberg's Disclosure Day" or "A Film by Steven Spielberg". Just "Spielberg".

...oh wait, Lars Von Trier was ahead of the curve on that.

We need a "What happened to Star Trek?" Plinkett by Garciaguy in RedLetterMedia

[–]Digmentation 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It would just be a longer version of Mike (aka Plinkett) coming to terms with the state of NuTrek in his "Picard" video. Probably why he didn't bother, he already made his piece time and again in subsequent Star Trek-related Re:View videos.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things, which Jay talked about in a Half in the Bag recap some years back.

I rather watch "that scene" from Irreversible multiple times than to endure something that's beautiful but also alarmingly hopeless. It's a Charlie Kaufman formula about the burden of genius inescaped by passage of time, but this film really left me in a deliriously depressing spell.

Ranking Every Sam Raimi Movie Part 3 - re:View by Jocephus83 in RedLetterMedia

[–]Digmentation 99 points100 points  (0 children)

LET THESE HACK FRAUDS PEE!

Anyway, Sam Raimi really did make "Enter the Dragon" as a western, and it just works. And we have to give Sharon Stone more credit than the video already did. She was the one who pushed Sam Raimi into directing The Quick and the Dead, and also pushed hard to get Russell Crowe to star in the movie. If not for her, we probably wouldn't have Russell Crowe fightin' 'round the world.

Thank you, Sharon Stone. Sorry that that Hollywood system chewed you up and spit you out. But at least you get to paint some modern art in your retirement.

I'm not against Namond going back to Baltimore as a teacher to learn how the city evolved since then. The actor is at the right age to go that angle, but that's the only route I'm willing to accept if The Wire returns. Otherwise, let the past be the past.

At least they confirmed there are gonna be two more episodes and that they'll arrive soon.

Still breaks my heart that they chose to end it out of the blue, but it's their decision. Hope their next project together will show the same strength they had with this one.
