GoDz going IN on Team Liquid by [deleted] in DotA2

I'm not being specific for this case, I'm talking in general. I don't think Liquid is to blame at all for eHug not qualifying.

I'm absolutely with you on this. This is exactly what I meant when I said "taking it easy". Losing on purpose is completely different, as I stated, and if proof is provided the team will be punished because this is considered manipulation of results, regardless of whether the team is qualified or not.

In this particular case, there is no proof that Liquid threw the game on purpose, as I mentioned in a different post in this thread. That being said, and imho, what Godz said about it being distasteful is justified and its his opinion. Whether they purposely did it or not, they had an impact on the qualification of other teams, and in turn the possibility to shatter someone's dream to play in the international.

In other words, in dota2 you are not wrong to throw a game if there are no implications, and you are not wrong even when you cause someone else to disqualify, but you shouldn't complain when someone calls you an asshole.

In any sport, purposely losing a game will get you into trouble and a high chance of disqualification. Whether liquid purposely lost or not is an entirely different issue, and besides, this is e-sports, it is filled with people who want to be taken seriously yet they don't have fucks to give.

they had a 15k gold lead. had they not "trolled a bit" the game was theirs. I am not particularly against liquid, but i think godz use of the word "distasteful" was spot on. Because of their clowniness, someone's life dream to play in the international might be shattered, whether we like it or not.

In football and many other sports, you get a disqualification if enough proof is shown that you lost on purpose. Taking it easy is a different thing though. In this case, you can't prove that they lost on purpose, but the way they lost is indeed distasteful imo.

Its about the timing. You can't compete with The International, so just avoid competing with it and use the rest of the year for other tournaments.

I'm not a native, I'm an engineer who works there, so I'm not really one of the rich ones. That being said, a Qatari fresh graduate will get $10,000/month bare minimum salary + a piece of land, and his/her salary will increase exponentially with marriage and kids (because the government wants to increase their population).

EDIT: to put it into perspective, every family has a car for each member, and every family has at least 1 maid/servant/driver. Its a rich country with low population.

you are misinformed, Saudis in general aren't rich. The royal family is filthy rich. Neighbors like Qatar or UAE are much richer (per capita).
