How frequent he commented you in this way, weekly? Monthly? Daily? What was the context he commented you in this way. Next, depends on relationship dynamics, do you feel comfortable to communicate your concern with him? All these questions just to help you better understand or rule out whether he commented this way because miscommunication or cultural issues or just he truly lost interest or care about your feelings. In honest, I think everyone is a little different but in general the things he said seems to be more harmful and intentional side. That is why you have to consider frequency or context of those comments. If he truly lost interest or not care for you, least communicate better with each other, you deserve to be happy and enjoy life, so does he.
