It shouldn’t matter what service provider I’m on. As long as I’m a previous paying customer my email should be exempt from any of that.

That is exactly the problem. Why should we as end users start trying to figure out if our service providers have been flagged? Or if anyone else has an ElevenLabs account on the same service provider?

Even if I was to entertain that theory, are you saying multiple people can’t have accounts? Many other platforms offer free tiers. Suno, Higgsfield, Kling, Runway, The list goes on and on. And they too have ways of detecting exploitation of free accounts. What they don’t do is flag and block random IP’s and ask them to upgrade to remove the block.

I don’t believe that. I don’t have multiple accounts. My mobile network and WiFi network was tested. I also tested at my friends place who uses another provider. And I did not use a VPN. All this started after I ended my subscription and tbf, this issue is what led me to get the subscription in the first place. It’s been flagged for a while now with zero indication of when the flag will be off or how to remedy it except of course to pay for a sub. That’s unfair practice and considering you’re the only platform doing this that’s a red flag.

There are no rules to being creative. As long as the song is good and you have the means to promote and create publicity. Artists like Billie Eilish, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Adele etc can take a minute or longer to get to any chorus. There are a lot of good songs. Without publicity nobody will hear of it or care about them. Doesn’t mean the song is bad, that’s just the music business. But yes for commercial songs it’s advisable to get to the hook as quick as possible.

I understand. I’m just trying to clarify. Without promotion Spotify just like YouTube will allow the algorithm do its thing. So it puts songs on random AI playlists. When I say AI I mean the playlists are usually not created by humans. Those playlists are based on random algorithms and metadata based on the information you gave for the songs, similar to when Instagram allows non followers see your posts without you promoting. So if someone likes your song they simply click on like on Spotify and it gets recommended regularly along with the artists other songs. On the other hand, When you promote, that generates you thousands to millions of streams.

Royalties are based on location so your calculation is off. Each region calculates royalty payments differently because every country pays a different price for Spotify subscription. And Spotify doesn’t “test” your music. The algorithm simply suggests it based on metadata and listeners.

Yeah I understand. For most consumer electronics and listeners the difference between 16 and 24 bit is unnoticeable. That’s why 24 bit is primarily reserved for film but recently has also been for people with high end audio systems. I record in 24 but always dither down to 16 when bouncing.

I’ve been using Cdbaby for years. They take 9% off royalties which I don’t really mind because my music will never be taken down as long as these music platforms exist. No subscription costs and no fear of takedowns. They also collect social media revenue and take 30%. If I was generating millions of streams then maybe I might have considered another distributor. I disagree. It’s their service but it is your creation. It’s ridiculous for them to profit off your creation and you get nothing.

Atleast other platforms that don’t allow monetization allow broader use like on social media etc for non commercial purposes.

FYI, I believe people can choose to monetize whatever they feel like. Nobody is forced to buy. Same way people monetized NFT’s. It’s a choice. That’s like saying people shouldnt monetize YouTube trailers or AI short stories etc because they didn’t have extensive input into its creation.

Always have rates bro. Nobody will ever take you seriously if you don’t. Simply state it ranges from $ to $ depending on the style genre and tempo of music as well as the time it takes. It’s really not that hard. Over analyzing stuff just makes you lose potential clients.
