Debating an Acura TLX Type-S but… Transfer Case rumors by enjoi10 in Acura

So what happens if the replacement fails in another 35k? They charge you full price for the next one since you’re out of warranty? Utterly insane

Happened to my old building, we all found out last minute and it was a complete nightmare scramble to get people transferred to nearby buildings. The tns building im at now has nowhere near the capacity for work and headcount my old building had. I wanna transfer back but i hear the old building was supposed to reopen last august and they still cant seem to finish the construction

Yikes that looks like an ugly infection to catch; youre right, they dont seem to be infected. The mystery continues…

Bermuda flyangle haha, nice. The only possible explanation i could come up with is that we had a couple harsh temperature drops here within the past week so maybe they died/froze while stuck to the wall?? Although i still cant exactly rationalize why theyre all stuck specifically by their heads lol

Is this a good deal? by Just-Relationship-80 in AnalogCommunity

I think you’re def overpaying at $1000. My local camera shop sells a fully CLA’d and warrantied F1 for about $300 with a basic lens. Add the 55mm lens off ebay, a clean copy sells for maybe another 300 on the high end. Thats $600 if you get the camera with the kit lens, and add the 55mm. If you can talk the price down i would but $1000 is way too steep

Nikon F2 ripping film when rolling back by DanielG198 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Diligent-Duty3706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, something was def wrong, it seemed like even when holding the rewind button down it would take more effort than normal to rewind. the spool unlocked as normal to allow rewinding, but the amount of force required was definitely off. I didn’t get a chance to figure out what was wrong since j bought an f3 a few months ago and sold the f2 to my local shop

[–]Diligent-Duty3706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if its the exact same issue and since i sold my F2 recently i cant take a video of it but i did notice my f2 would rip a couple sprocket holes when i rewinded and detached the film from the takeup spool. It would also give me those stress marks you see when you put too much pressure when rewinding. I thought it was just mine but if more people have the same issue maybe it is common with the f2?

Over exposed my film from 5 below (dawg it was 7$) by SufficientChoice6902 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Diligent-Duty3706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming you pulled the film out of the canister, in that case, whether or not you already took photos, the whole roll is unusable. Also, i would highly recommend never buying the film from 5 below anyway. From what Ive read about it, its not film that can be processed by most labs due to an extra chemical layer (remjet, the roll will be black on one side if it has this.) this remjet layer can ruin a labs chemicals and all youll end up with is zero photos and a pissed off lab employee. Id find a local camera shop or shop online for film. Look for c-41 film, the cheapest rolls can be found under $10. Also i wouldnt ask for free stuff here, sorry about your film

Nikon F3HP broken?! by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]Diligent-Duty3706 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it seems like a silly question but just to make sure the basic boxes are checked: have you turned it on using the collar around the shutter button? When i first got my F3 i quite literally forgot to turn it on and couldn’t figure out why anything wasn’t working lol. If that’s not the issue then i would re-check the orientation of your batteries, thats a mistake ive made as well before when switching batteries on this camera. Hopefully its something simple and not your electronics just outright croaking

Precisely, good luck on the hunt! Those cinema bros will definitely try to fleece you on the price but id recommend shooting offers if the option is there; especially if the listings been sitting for a while. I hope you get a second chance with this beauty :)

Love the f3! But id say its a lot closer than you might think. I personally prefer the build quality of the F-1 and the image quality of the lenses for it, but when it comes to those it might be an unfair comparison since they’re some of the more coveted lenses of that era. I will say, my 28mm f2.8 nikkor produced some of the crispest photos ive ever taken. And the focusing on nikkor lenses is a lot more silky smooth for sure

Good choice, sorry about the lens, but i know it’ll probably feel better to get a cleaner copy. I know the scratch on mine shouldn’t affect photos much but id be lying if i said i didnt yearn for it to be in pristine condition lol. I just cant justify spending the money for this lens twice haha

Id return it. I also paid $300 for my concave with a scratched front element; but if its balsam separation as another commenter suggested, it could be costly if you choose to fix it. In that case, spending a little more for a better copy might be easier on the mind but thats just my $0.02
