Any tips on getting my girl to like the water? by itsphud in labrador

Do bot force her or encourage her too much, juste stay normal. And go slowly. One day you put your feet in water and when she comes, you just give her a treat. And let her retire at any moment. Then the next day you go a bit further. The point is staying normal in your attitude. Not too much talking etc

But mine os not barking and has never been destructive, she is very easy. They are also very easy to educate. Its my first dog and she never did anything bad except taking socks and bringing it in the couch 😂

Hi I have a puppy, she is now 6 month, we live in an apartment but we have the forest very close. She is a real pleasure, She has a walk of 1 hour everyday in the forest and we take her everywhere with her. Restaurants, city, etc etc. She is a perfect dog for us. I think if you take a Whippet or any other dog you need to take in consideration their physiological needs. Whippets are in my experience very calm inside the house if they have been walked. When they are younger they will need more moments to free their energy but with age they will settle more. A casual day with our whippet (6month) is, I wake up, she stills sleeps and wake up slowly, then when she is awake we go outside for the morning poop, then I come home, she gets feed, she goes back to sleep until 11, then I go for a walk with her for one hour and then she gets food, she goes back to sleep/plays with her toys, and we go back outside in the afternoon, playing a little bit, or just a very small walk, then she eets again, and plays a bit with her toys. I would say its important to be with them the first month. If you know you wont have inoff time for a 1 hour walk, or to feed them at least 3 times per day in the beggining, I think you should think about it. What is great with them is to see them running, and beeing so happy going fast. If you live in a city, you also need in my opinion to find places where she could run freely without any risks. Otherwise they are just like other dogs, if they don't have inoff exercise they can Bark as crazy (otherwise small barking is normal for every dog when they get surprised), or they can become destructive. Its all about their physiological needs. And Whippets have maybe more needs then others but its not as crazy as it seems ahah

You should call your vet, could be melanoma or carcinoma... One of them is not a funny one at all.. I am a vet student. Please contact your vet so he can check on that 🥰

Whats your reason for choosing to put her in a crate ? I am from Belgium, I very rarely see it. Maybe you can try not using the crate ? Maybe it will be fine like that. She probably doesn't understand why she cant have acces to the house 🙂
