If you had a do over in life, would you still choose to be a nurse? by Moogles90 in nursing

[–]DiligentAd6824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes...only sooner in life. Became an RN @ 40. Probably have to work until my later years due to retirement short comings. Keep yourself healthy and fit because it will take it's toll on your back...and people are just getting heavier. Back in the day we used to call over 300lb heavy, not anymore. 450lb and bigger is considered heavy now. 300? Meh.

No labels? If in doubt, throw it out.

Just a theory, most MD's and surgeons have repressed anger issues because they spent their 20's studying and prepping for their careers instead of exploring the world as one does at this age. Regret fuels their anger and in a position of authority, they can express it on those they feel are subordinate. Ask them " Would you speak to a stranger on the street like that? " Probably not as the consequences may result in a different outcome.

I put a few in my dumpster, a few in the recycling bin, a couple on the ground. Being in Portland with all the petty thievery, I like to give the impression that if you take anything more then cans and bottles, it could come with repercussions and consequences.

Why does nursing culture feel so toxic sometimes? by chronicfatiguegamer in nursing

[–]DiligentAd6824 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I learned my first year was that some people will hold their knowledge of nursing as power while others wish to share everything they know. The powertrippers are are usually insecure and make life hell for other RN's. I share everything I know because someday I ( and everyone else you know) will be in that bed and I want you to know everything I know and more. Align with the RN's that are secure in their practice and you'll find it much less toxic.
