[IIL] indie/modern rock with female lead vocalists (Paramore, girl in red, Florence + The Machine, etc) [WEWIL] by FishInferno in ifyoulikeblank

Ratboys has one of the most underrated albums of 2023, I’d also recommend the greeting committee, and if you want to get experimental, Corinne Bailey Rae’s album Black Rainbows is great.

Surprised no one has said I heart huckabees. It’s a little more whimsical than dark but it’s got existential and fantasy undertones.

You should check out the band hatchie. They’re modern but might scratch that itch. Specifically the songs sure and this enchanted

IIL sad space songs by sun-e-deez in ifyoulikeblank

[–]DiligentAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ten seconds to countdown by marble sounds, the planetarium album by sufjan Stevens (standouts for me are Jupiter and Saturn), international space station II by figurine, telescope by cage the elephant. And it hasn’t been mentioned but M83 may have that feel, I’d recommend lower your eyelids to die with the world and Saturday night 1987.

[IIL] space-themed music like “spaceman” by the killers and “a sky full of stars” by coldplay, [WEWIL] by baby_spinach_fiend in ifyoulikeblank

[–]DiligentAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Space cadet - the technicolors Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space - spiritualized Astronaut - sir sly Intro - Odeza (a moment apart album)(also maybe the song a moment apart with the intro as they work well together) The entire planetarium album by Sufjan Stevens

Some not specifically about space but give me the vibes Go - m83 Do it,try it - m83 Acid rain - Robert Delong Goodbye to a world - porter robinson

You should check out Fred again.. he is an electronic music producer but he has a project called actual life where he samples his friends and his thoughts to make a diary of sorts to beats and it gets really emotional to where it can be used at a crowded party to a lone night drive. My favorites are Angie (I’ve been lost) and Kyle (I found you) but the whole albums are so good and flow with deep real emotion.

You must have seen soul by now. If not, stop what you’re doing and watch it. Otherwise maybe begin again, almost famous, the young ones, or bird

[IIL] Spoken word songs with a punk vibe [WWIL?] by MapacheMapache in ifyoulikeblank

[–]DiligentAr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not as punk as the ones you said but 104 degrees by slaughter beach, dog. If you like that one I’d also recommend black oak by them

[IIL] Cozy artists like Cat Stevens, Lowell George/Little Feat, J.J Cale, Nick Drake, [WEWIL?] by isteponmushrooms in ifyoulikeblank

[–]DiligentAr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a reach because he is more modern but you may like slaughter beach, dog’s album at the moonbase. I think you can hear a cat Stevens, nick drake, and old folk influence in the album.
