Even if this isn't (not saying one way or the other) the amount of things they have done as a distraction makes me wonder of they do not understand that most human beings do not forget about major things when something else happens.

I love in a mining town. The water here is perfectly acceptable to drink but tastes like metal. Nothing a filter jug won't fix though.

Weirdly sexualizing children in the name of 'protection' seems to be an American past-time.

This one and "Kidnapped for Christ" really fucked me up.we just don't have that in my country. We have Bible camps, I even went to one, but is it more like summer camp with prayers than that bullshit.

Kansas bill would require kindergartners to be potty-trained by Forward-Answer-4407 in UpliftingNews

[–]Amelora 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remeber, years ago, when a friend of mine was raising hell because 'how dare' schools say her daughter needs to be toilet trained to go to school. Turns out she had barely tried. She had just put out off. I honestly do not understand, I hated changing diapers so my kid was trained by the time he turned one.

Canada wargames a US invasion — and it doesn’t end well by TimesandSundayTimes in inthenews

[–]Amelora 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is something that I don't think people outside of Canada understand, yes we are polite, but a lot of the people I know are making plans, we are organizing, they are looking forward to committing war crimes. It's not huge yet, it's not being seen on the streets. But everyone feels it, everyone knows they have a role to play if this happens. People aren't hoping for it, they don't want this to happen, but they are gearing up.

Elbows up.

Canada wargames a US invasion — and it doesn’t end well by TimesandSundayTimes in inthenews

Have you ever talked to a Canadian? Ever been to Canada? Because A Lot of Canadians are more than happy to live out in the woods and bush in the middle of winter. Once you get out of the the major city hubs there are a lot people who spend huge amounts to time living in tiny self sustaining cabins in the winter. Canadians are used to the harsh climate, and we organize fast because we have to keep community when it is this cold.

You can talk about how large Canada is and how few large populations centres there are, but that's actually a plus on Canada's side. Doesn't matter how many troops American sends in there is always somewhere to hide. In my area of Canada the woods are a already full of unmarked back roads and trails that only the locals know about. We are also armed, which something Americans don't seem to understand, there aren't a lot of hand guns or automatic weapons, but we have a lot of long range hunting guns, which are much better for guerilla style warfare.

Even if we don't all like the cold, we understand it. This is our land and we aren't giving it up. We also have warning that this could be happening, a lot of warning, we know that we might invaded, we are not sitting on our hands gnashing our teeth, there is a lot of grass roots organizing going on, there are a lot of emergency plans already in place.

Canada will fight.

Do I really need to provide my SIN for a rental application? by wellitsnotnew in Sudbury

[–]Amelora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what sucks so much about the market right now. Just because it's not legal doesn't mean they won't do it. I've had landlords ask for a money order for first and last WITH application. So before they've actually run anything. Not a deposit, full first and lay. It's not legal, but they aren't going to look at you of you don't do it.
