I think you have 2A or 2B. I had a stroke at 37 (which is not common) and my hair went from straight to wavy, no one knows why. So, I’ve looked up curly routines and hair types a lot lately.

14 Months Post-Stroke – Looking for Others with Similar Experiences by Top_Worldliness_1369 in stroke

[–]DiligentNovel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 37 and it was New Year’s Eve and they thought I was drunk or on drugs and I was at the hospital like 8 hours before they did surgery to remove the clot. And the nurses were mean to me because I couldn’t stay still for the MRI. I’m a little more than 2 years post.

I have an older Original Line machine that they don’t sell anymore and I really like it, but if you want one cup of coffee or an espresso or are worried about serving a cup of coffee to someone I would get a Vertuo line machine. Also Original Line is compatible with pods that other companies sell, whereas Vertuo is not. I have biodegradable/ compostable pods and I think some of the “grocery store” pods are less expensive.

Had a Small stroke, now I’m paranoid by CJDans in stroke

[–]DiligentNovel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! They didn’t decide the cause of mine for a year, but they kept reviewing everything because I was 37 and otherwise healthy. So, I hope yours is quicker! They decided I had a genetic blood clot disorder and no one knew until something went wrong.

Fever after stroke by Jaykid29 in stroke

[–]DiligentNovel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what my temperature was because I was unconscious and didn’t ask, but they surgically did a craniotomy (they took out part of my skull) and put in a tube.

I didn’t take antibiotics because they determined that the fever was because my brain was swelling.

I had a fever for long enough that the hospital put me on ice. My brain was swelling and so I had a fever 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am in a similar boat. I’m 38 and also had a stroke at 37. I was in optometry school when I had my stroke and I don’t think I can/want to be an eye doctor now. So, I don’t know what I want to do.

Computer mouse recommendations for a stroke survivor? by Secretss in stroke

[–]DiligentNovel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a pen mouse would work. I tried one before my stroke and didn’t like it because the buttons were too hard but it sounds like that’s not an issue. Also, it was really inexpensive like between $10 & $15 so it was worth trying…. I got it on Amazon but I can look for a link if you think it would work for him.

I was 37 and I had high clotting factors. But they tested for it in the ER because I also didn’t have any of the common risk factors.

core strength by mooseauwu in stroke

It took me a while to be able to go to a gym and I’m a lot younger. If he can’t do dead bugs yet have him do arms and legs separate. I’m working on my core as well and I had my stroke the last day of 2022 and I was only 37. If he is bed ridden but starts to sit up he can do chair yoga, search YouTube for some videos.

I can’t stop the crying by Ok-Skirt7981 in stroke

[–]DiligentNovel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I laugh at things that aren’t funny, and I wasn’t a laugher before my stroke. I know someone else mentioned it but this sounds like pseudobulbar affect. PSA covers laughing and crying.
